Can someone explain why Danzo didn't get punished by Hiruzen for wanting to steal Kakashi's sharing an?

Because it was filler. They wanted Kakashi to do something useful but they knew they couldn't kill Danzo so they BS'ed it has usual.

Always take fillers with a grain of salt. Danzo is a little more sneaky than that, Kakashi definitely would have told Hiruzen, and Hiruzen might have actually done something about that in that incident. But Hiruzen was often thought of as lenient leader when you consider what happened between him and Oro before so I'm guessing the anime went on with that.

Most likely he was doing it because he might have been mad and wanted Kakashi to work under his root???
