If we look at Gol D Roger , Edward Newgate and Shiki we can see many similarities with Monkey D Luffy , Trafalger Law and Eustass Kidd.
We already know Luffy is most likely to be the PK.
The three supernova most highlighted by Oda are the ones listed above, also they where the first three Supernova captains of the worst generation we saw since the time skip ; showing they'll be more likely to have the most relevance later.
Shiki , Roger and Newgate rivalled each other and respected each other , we see similarities as the three young supernovas are seemingly the strongest of all 11 in the worst generation. They are all very much equal in strength. They all show concern over each others actions acknowledging their strength.
Which in turn shows a relationship building up between the three which can mirror that of the previous big shots.
We now look at powers:
Rogers are unknown.
Luffy = Gomu Gomu no Mi
The above in action does not create too much collateral and excess damage to surroundings.
Roger fell ill and knew he had little time left ; hence he was captured. Luffy has lost a lot of years of his life. G2 and G3 ; also Ivankovs hormones shorten his life , he may die early , just like Roger.
Whitebeard = Gura Gura no Mi
Law = Ope Ope no Mi
Both leave humongous amounts of evidence they had fought where they use their powers ; collateral damage is often very significant
Kidd = A magnetism based fruit
Shiki = Fuwa Fuwa no Mi
Both powers are VERY similar.
On top of this we can see that Shiki and Eustass are very hostile ; shown by Kidds 470,000,000 bounty and Shikis rage at Marineford after Rogers capture.
Whitebeard ( much like law ) are normally more calm and controlled when provoked. When angered they are angered for a reason.
Roger , Whitebeard and Shiki are all of a similar age. Luffy, Law and Kidd are also all of a similar age.
From all those similarities we can tell these three will fulfil similar roles and live similar lives.
