Sea of Thy Soul, may I recommend that you go on YouTube and rewatch the Itachi v. Sasuke fight? If you have Hulu or Crunchyroll, it's episodes 135-138. While they were even for a while, once Itachi whipped out Susanoo, Sasuke began trying to flee. At that point in both of their respective characters, Itachi could easily have killed Sasuke.

Now, Itachi is not even relevant with Naruto's and Sasuke's current level of power. Itachi v. Current Naruto or Current Sasuke ends pretty much instantly in the favor of Naruto or Sasuke. But at the level of power Sasuke was at when he fought Itachi, to me at least, it seems pretty obvious Itachi could have stomped Sasuke.
