I was wondering exactly is Enton's cutting ability? Is it stronger than chidori.
Is it possible that during Sasuke's fight with Ay that instead of Ay stomping Sasuke that he could have lost his leg.

Clearly he's talking about sasuke's enton sword, and kagutsuchi, which both create a blade or spike of black flame. It's an easy question to grasp.

How can it control lava, it's only the utilization and manipulation of the black flames not a Lava Release KKG.

It possibly has an intense cutting power as well as flammability, as it was able to cut through the spider web with ease.

The only known substance I see it incapable of cutting is a Susano'o and the Yata Mirror. Other things may be capable of dispersing it though before it cuts.

@op also chidori should theoretically cut better then enton because lightning is hotter then fire the only think that makes enton special is that it cant be put out once the burn starts ( which makes for so many plot holes its not even funny)

Even though this is just a manga, Kishi is quite keen on science in many occasions. I don't see, why he would not be that, when it comes to this jutsu as well.

So I hardly doubt it's so hot, it instantly cuts anything, since that is just, oh well... And a light saber, well nothing really explains it xD

Anyway for the actual topic, it seems more as if enton can be sharpened, when Sasuke combines it with his sword. Kinda like what Madara did with the Kuybi's TBB.

Actually, Sasuke turned the flames into spikes so it might have been able to cut through.

It does cut to what extent we cannot really tell but kidomaru's web is stronger than steal & it was cut easily
Or burned doesn't matter really its a hot knife cutting butter

A leg drop lol wouldn't have killed sasuke knock the wind out of him maybe broke a couple susanoo ribs very likely but kill hell no
Also he created serval spikes that would both set a blaze & cut the raikage
