Benn waits patiently for a man he'd met just moments ago.
Intrigued by the thought of learning genjutsu, Benn is both eager and determined.

Byakuran arrives, with him scrolls of different sizes and lengths, all bearing information about Illusions.

So, you want to learn Genjutsu? If it is your first Genjutsu training session, tell me everything and anything you know about Illusions!

Genjutsu (幻術, Literally meaning: Illusionary Techniques) is one of the main jutsu categories which uses chakra. Unlike ninjutsu, the effects of genjutsu are not real, being only illusions experienced by those who fall victim to it.

Unlike Tai or most Ninjutsu
Genjutsu utilizes your chakra to forcefully alter a persons vision, sense of hearing and even the ability to move, breath and hold fee sable means of direction.

By manipulating the targets chakra, one can do all the above with the right techniques. The goal being to either confuse or subdue your prey.

My goal? Slow my targets sight down.
Make them see things slower so I seem faster. Alter they're perception.
Allowing me better advantages at closer ranges if need be. If possible.

I'm not accepting this. Do not just copy and paste it from Wiki :|

So, once again, what is Genjutsu?
What are the many ways you can break out of an illusion?
What does layering Genjutsus mean?
How do you detect a genjutsu without metagaming?

Once you've answered those questions in YOUR OWN WORDS with a good amount of details, we can proceed with the technique. You can use this: to help you, but make sure you actually read it and put it in your own words. If you don't know the answer, I will help you with it, but I expect 100% effort.

Only thing I copied from wiki is the first 2 lines.

I broke it down afterwards sensei in the bolded text in my quote.

I'll go on by saying genjutsu has been used in multiple occasions in the show.
For instance the uchiha clan are known for they're extremely high genjutsu prowess.
Orochimaru, Kabuto and many leaf shinobi have shown off multiple forms of mind and vision illusion based manipulation.
The Second Mizukage utilized genjutsu effectively at times.

Point is, genjutsu is controls the targets sight sound and many other sense based or mental based functionalities of a human being.
Causing them to see they're loved ones die in front of them like a bad nightmare, or see a giant flame burning them alive only to be fooled by the genjutsu.

Eh, I will go into more details, since you missed major points ;p. To successfully cast an illusion, you would need to gain control of the enemy's chakra flow in their cerebral nervous system, through your chakra obviously, which would allow you to affect one, or multiple senses out of the five senses. It is generally not a popular area of ninjutsu, but some like Uchiha's, or Kurama clan's are wellrenowned for their extremely advanced genjutsu usages. There are layered genjutsus, where breaking the first illusion will lead to a second one and is more complicated than a normal illusion because they mix two illusions into one. When creating layered illusions, you'd need to use the higher rank first to make sure both illusions are set in place, otherwise only the stronger illusion will be created.

Their exists many ways to break out of an illusion. a) You can use a full chakra surge, which requires it to be one rank higher than the Genjutsu itself. b) Using kai (release genjutsu technique) to spike your spiritual energy, thus causing a surge of chakra that disrupts the illusion, or c) pain.

Below is a chart that details the amount of pain necessary for releasing a certain rank of illusions.
D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping a Finger (like one does as he bites to draw blood for a Summoning Jutsu)
C Rank Genjutsu: Low level Physical Attacks, Bitting a chunk of your Cheek
B Rank Genjutsu: Low ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
A Rank Genjutsu: High ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing Yourself in minor muscle, Cutting yourself, Breaking Smaller bones, Low level Burning/Voltage, Painful Cold
S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage level Taijutsu, Breaking Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts, Medium Voltage/Burning, Extreme Painful Cold, Bitting your tongue off

You can detect an illusion by either noticing your own chakra not flowing at its usual flow/disturbed through sensing techniques like the Sharingan. Or, you can notice some things in the illusion that does not match with reality/isn't realistic. For example, if you're on dry land and an illusion makes you suddenly believe that you are underwater, then obviously it is not realistic for water of great volume to suddenly appear, almost instantly. You have to REASON (emphasis on reason) out why the illusion is not realistic, and then you can break out of the illusion through the aforementioned methods, otherwise it is metagaming (Or if you do not provide enough reason for detecting an illusion, it can be considered metagaming)

Well, want to continue with the techniques then? Hopefully you read what i wrote rather than skipping it lol

Jotting it down after reading the chart, he realizes his limitations before responding.

"Sensei, I hadnt the slightest idea the depth of which genjutsu use required to reach."

He stood in minor shock.

"N...never the less. I am ready sensei....I will give it my very all."
