Hello everyone.
So in this thread I'm about to ask you about SMT (Shin Megami Tensei)/Persona series.
I never played any game in the series (Because it looks like a teen school drama to me & I'm not a fan of it's art & design style) but where ever I go people tend to wank & over hype this series to the extremes, they go as far as to claim that it's a better franchise than Final Fantasy (like hell it is...I mean really?!)
So, can anyone enlighten me on the matter? It would be appreciated. maybe I'll become a believer too :D

I like Final Fantasy more myself, but Persona has tons of replay ability with great soundtracks and long stories. The characters are usually likeable and diverse while "Personas" make battle interesting enough to keep away from repetition.

Persona being a enjoyable & fun series is understandable, but what's behind the hype? Even some of critics & reviewers call it the best JRPG franchise & claim that it stole the RPG genre crown from FF.
Granted FF wasn't as glorious as before these past years but it can't be beaten so easily...

I think it's just the uniqueness of the gameplay, it really stands out as it's own genre of JRPG. Like it's not all about battling and leveling up, it has deep stories and twisting plots with multiple endings depending on how you play.
