I've already ended up watching and caught up to onepiece naruto and their mangas.

When i started watching naruto i ended watching it in english and it didn't make much of a difference until i heard japanese and just feels like they put much more effort and emotion into the episodes.

So... are the english versions of fairy tail great with their voice actors or should i just watch it as is

Saw part of the first episode and was terrible to me. Japanese is the way to go because you're right they do put more effort and emotion to voicing the characters.

depends on how I started a particular manga when I started watching DBZ a century ago it was all dubs and the Japanese subs sounded terrible to me

But I started watching Naruto with the subs and the voice acting for the dubs is garbage

Oddly it was a mix and match with Bleach so subbed or dubbed doesn't matter to me in this instance.
