I like english dub sometimes, but most of the time. the voices dont fit the characters. It really annoys me.Plus they take some of the good parts out, like cussing and other stuff.geesh what are we 4 we dont need you to censor everything. I like sub better because it gives you everything and you hear their actual voices,although i use to think anime was made by americans XD

Oh god that was terrible. the dubbed voices sound so unnatural and forced. They try way too hard. In the subbed version they talk the way normal people talk, not trying so hard to pronounce every word. It takes so much away from characters like Hidan, he doesn't sound crazy at all. I liked the dubs when I first saw the show on toonami, but after getting used to the subs the dubbed voices sound like robots.

Another reason i prefer subs (just one example)

If I understood Japanese, I would watched subbed Naruto, otherwise I'm watching the dubbed. I understand it and I honestly love the voices for the some of the characters. I tried watching the subbed Naruto, and I just couldn't do it. I really can't stand listening to those Japanese voices. English dub is perfect, at least for me. Some people like the subbed, and I understand why, but I just can't stand them. So, I agree with the OP.

This is the biggest problem with Sub lovers. They say stuff like this!! Most of the time when they cuss in the Sub version, it's just over exaggerated fan translation.

Subbed is often the subber's interpetation of the Japanese sentence spoken. It might've been exactly what the dub said actually.
In any case... in the dub Hidan screams at Kakuzu for picking his head up by his hair and says "It hurts like a son of a bitch". That ain't cencoring, is it?

On the main topic:
I think both are pretty good. I like Itachi's, Shikamaru's, Gaara's and Kakashi's voice a lot in dubbed episodes.

The Japanese voice actors tend to emulate their characters significantly better.

The video above isn't that impressive, the voice actors don't seem to get the right feeling.

Of course it's just an opinion, but I did begin with dubs. Now, the subs are the way to go.

He said the word bitch once. In the sub he says f*** and curses like every second, that's just the way he talks and with the robot dub voice it actually takes a lot way from his character.
