If you're up to date, it won't matter. Plus, this isn't really a spoiler since we see his journey through cover pages of the chapter's a few years back. Meaning it's could be something unrelated to the canon storyline (has Oda has done with past cover stories) or could actually be part of it (most likely) it'd be animated when the animators decide to care about it. But nonetheless, it's not really a spoiler.
