Here's my question! Is 2012 the year the world will end. Many people believe so because the Mayan calendar ends on ,that day. Personally I believe the world won't end on that day. First of all to all those who believe it will, do you even know a Mayan o_O???? And second, the Mayans believed that we were made from Corn...:confused: Thanks :3

No. The world is not going to end. For one thing, above all, the Mayan calander never included Leap Year... so TeCHNICALLY the world was "supposed" to end months/years ago.

However, if any of you are truly gullible enough to believe in such things, know this: I will gladly hold on to your money for you on that special day.

well just because their calender ends on that deate doesn't mean crap :| maybe they died off before they could continue writeing it :| and i ndon't believe that crap the world was predicted to end in 2000. but here we are 12 years after the "doomsday" so it wasn't the end of the world is it? and same goes with every prediction. only god and god alone knows when time and life will end.

The Mayans did not account for Leap Year. Without Leap Year, we'd be in 2013 right now. And the world is supposedly ending in 2012 yet it's 2013 right now in their terms.

Edit: What the first guy said...

Actually I thought it was confirmed that another 7,000 years were found in addition to the Mayan Calender's 2012-end year.

I like what the first guy said, and I will also gladly hold on to bank accounts and passwords :D

The Mayan calendar never accounted for "leap years/days" and it never intended on it. They were well aware of the small change every year, and purposely didnt account for it. The Mayan calendar is astronomical, accounting/marking the solices/ellipses that happen every year. The last day on the calander is to account for the Winter Solice of 2012, and it is very correct. If they accounted for leap days, it wouldnt put them at the Winter Solice at the end of their calandar, but they are a solar race (worshipped the sun). This is very important, FYI

I can tell you really know a lot about this, and have probably put great thought into this year's astronomical event. If you are planning on doing anything beyond rational this Winter, keep in mind you have a friend in me to hold on to any valuables (green or not) that you may need a friend to hold on to.
