end od shutter island

last week i watched shutter island after the movie end i really didnt know was the guy totally crazy or was he not. There are many things which would be yes he is crazy ( like the bad guy said) or hes not (he met a woman and was on a boat)
i want to hear your opinions.

At the end he got a labatomy. The Labatomys are performed I assume in the Lighthouse or the Labatomy patients are kept there.

Everything the doctors tell him about his wife etc etc are true. Its not that confusing tbh the island isnt a secret expermentation center.

I really liked that movie!

I don't think he was crazy but I think that he wanted to die(or whatever they did to him in the tower, can't remember its been too long) because he killed his wife. And his life was ruined.

But that's my opinion so let's see what others say.

It was a great movie. However at the end you will notice the Doctor look at Leonardo strangely.

That is because he is thinking more logically then he was before. Believing that what they did worked.....to some degree. He never tried to make sense of anything before. And never said anything that made sense whenever he slipped back into his insanity. It took me awhile to understand it. But when I did I was like :whoa:

it's one of the hardest movies to understand what happaned!

I couldn't understand everything well myself so I can't tell you but I think that he wasn't Crazy at the end!

I think he regained his old self in the end, for a while at least. Or he chose to act and be lobotomised ? o_o It was a great movie, I'm so glad I went to see it in cinema x3

Yeah at the end of the movie LDCaprio was himself he choose to be labatomised as he couldnt live with the fact his children and wife etc were gone.

He choose to forget basically as if he didnt he would have to accept what happened and also he would be released into a world he hates.

I quite enjoyed this movie it's a film that makes you think. Leonardo DiCaprio played his role well.

For some reason I still believe that he was sane but convinced into being crazy and getting the lobotomy so he could stay on the island.

i think he was not insane it cant just be that he "imagined" the woman he met in the cave
and at the beginning he was on ship smoking and at that moment the other bad cop gave him one of these drugged cigarettes made him think he was crazy
and in the end he said a pretty cool sentence "which would be worse to live as a monster and die as a good man" maybe he was just acting to be crazy to get killed because he got a bad conscience of murdering his wife

Leonardo Di Caprio is a pretty good actor but his old movies were more woman movies (titanic, romeo and Juliet) but his new one are awesome (the departed, blood diamond, shutter island, inception and so on)
