I am certain Hashirama must have used it against Madara and we all know how effective that turned out to be. I seriously doubt that is getting past Susano'o.

I don't see how Susanoo can block pollen when the user inside of it can still breathe.

^ Didn't Sasuke's Susano'o block acid mist, which is condensed vapour? Pollen would be a bit larger in size. All Susano'o has to do is simply sift the pollen from the air.

Sasuke's arm was being melted by the mist.
