So guys, Hashirama didn't win by strength or power, he won because madara's guard was down and the attack was unexpected, Any shinobi can win a fight like that,

Its not the first time kishi trolled us into believing something that was wrong, just like he made us believe itachi was pure evil and wanted sasuke's eyes..We got trolled, hashirama is not stronger than ems madara in any way

Btw the help from the 9 tails doesn't matter, because naruto have the nine tails inside him his whole life and everyone praise naruto as strong, we all know how it would be if naruto didn't had the 9 tails power

Hashirama was not even trynna kill madara....Madara had intent to kill..had kurama and still lost. hashirama did not try to kill him until the last few moments of the fight....how did he win if he was weaker? so if your opponant is weaker and does not want to kill how can you lose? we have yet to see one scan of madara getting the upper hand in a fight with hashirama...

Was Madara fighting that battle with his power alone? It was more or less Madara and Kurama versus Hashirama.
About the "cheap shot," I thought it was a fitting end to the fight. Think about it, in a tiresome fight with largescale, powerful moves like susanoo and wood dragon, it was a simple clone that fooled the mighty Madara. It just goes to show that the basic skills of deceit and stealth (which is what clones are all about) are tools that should never be underestimsted, or forgotten.

They are simple tactics that are being ignored lately in the manga. Madara probably never saw it coming

Oh, right. He didn't die. As he said, the true battle was concerning the future. Madara took steps to achieve a certain goal; his real dream to cast a genjutsu over the world. He pretty much set up Hashirama's attack for him and bailed when he got what he wanted.

it seemed to me like kishi was actually trying to show the similarity to jiraiya's book ie where pain/naruto tells random ninja-guy "give up trying to make me give up" and he uses a clone to fool the enemy, then appears behind him.

There is no cheap shot. It is part of his ability. Just like when Kakashi vs. Zabuza where kakashi let slice behind and it is a watch clone. Then zabuza get slice behind by kakashi which is also a clone. For naruto, he always use clone all the time. It is a skill. It is not like they are prohibited to use clone to fight this way.

1. Madara wanted hashi's power only.
2. Hashirama was madara's friend.
3. Madara was spared by hashirama b4 - favour returned.
4. After getting senju power madara would need some time to master it, devise new plan and so on. Leading hashirama to believe madara is dead is the right action for that, victory would result in some hunt on madara.

Outmaneuvering you opponent is not a cheap-shot. In fact, in the ninja world, that is what your are supposed to do. They're called ninja's, not knights.

As for Madara planning all this, If Madara could kill Hashirama, then why bother hiding? Only the newly born Leaf village would try hunt him, and Madara could easily solo the few clans that had joined if he could beat down Hashirama. Seriously, all it would take would be regaining control of the Juubi and putting a Susan'oo cloak on it again.

No, I think Hashirama legitimately surprised him with that backstab and that it did not fit at all into whatever plan Madara had dreamed up. However, it wasn't a complete loss for Madara as he was some how able to acquire Senju DNA and preserve it after being SEVERELY wounded. Wounded enough for him to not be able to take on Hashirama again after that battle or enact his Eye of the Moon plan.

I'm 100% sure he wasn't waiting for an Uchiha to be born to take up his mantle...if anything, he wanted to do it himself, but his defeat at Hashirama almost permanently stalled his plan. It was only thanks to Obito showing up on his floor did Hashirama see a glimmer of hope of his plan being enacted anytime in the foreseeable future.

Rule #1: NEVER let your guard down. Madara was a fool for believing that Hashirama was helpless on the ground, especially without his Sharingan activated. If your opponent has the ability to breathe, theres a chance of him coming back.
