Background Info
History: Arthur Curry's, (or as he later came to be known) Aquaman story starts out a storm ridden night near a lighthouse ran by a single man. Arthur's father was content in this place. He yearned not for socializing and company, but for solitude and isolation away from the evil that inevitably always cropped up whenever too many people were around. His father wasn't expecting much on that night, and yet he felt as if something strange was to take place soon. Amidst the rain, a cry reached his ears from near the shore that he would focus his spotlight on. A woman had washed up onto the rocks and was being tugged away into the ocean. His father rushed into the surf, and with all his might fought against the current, finally and with great effort, saving the woman. Though, as his father looked into her eyes, he could tell that she wasn't quite right.... wasn't..... human... She was in fact, a Gyojin.
His father was soon come to wish that he never encountered this woman.
Aquaman's father felt in all honesty that he didn't deserve his mother's love, but she gave it to him all the same. Soon, she was pregnant with him and making plans to build a life with his father on land. But, as most things that would happen in his life, things never quite work out according to plan. In the middle of the day his father's door was knocked down by someone that seemed to possess the strength of two men. At the door stood two large men in masks who had come for Aquaman's mother. It turned out that she was the daughter of a Gyojin King of a nearby underwater Kingdom who had escaped to live life on land. The king would not stand for his daughter cavorting with land dwellers, and sent his guards to scour the land and sea to find her. With their superior senses they had finally located her and had come to bring her back to the sea. Aquaman's father fought valiantly, but alas, he was no match for the Fishman Warriors. His mother was forcefully dragged back under the Sea and back to her Kingdom. But so much time on land had changed her. She wasn't so fit to live underwater as she was before, especially bearing child...Aquaman's mother died while giving birth to him shortly after being brought back down. Her last words, her only words, we're begging for the life of her child.
As was tradition in the underwater village of Atlantis, the illegitimate child was to be thrown to the edge of the village and left for the predators to do as they wished. However in doing so, the Atlanteans made a large error. Aquaman was born with an innate sense of love and care for undersea life and they felt this warmth and love radiating from him. Instead of destroying him, they brought him back to the very spot on his mother has first set foot on shore. Sulking in his sorrow, Aquaman's father had been in misery in this place as his son washed up on shore carried by a sea creature. As he looked into the child's eyes, he saw his beloved's eyes. He knew that this was his son.

Aquaman's father tried to raise him correctly. He tried to instill morals and religious values into him, but as with most things you try to tell a 13 year old, nothing could quite stick. Aquaman and his father both knew of his royal lineage, but his father tried to keep in held back as much as possible. Aquaman knew that he should be King under the Sea, he felt as if the animals of the sea and the birds in the air knew it too. This feeling, culminated in what had to feel like Deja Vu to his father as his door was broken down once more by Gyojin guards . His father would rise once more, determined to never let his son be taken away, but just as before, he was no match. Aquaman's father would die thinking that the guards were there to kill his son.
However, the reality was that the guards had taken him to come to his rightful place as King. With the death of his grandfather, the Atlanteans had realized their folly in casting Aquaman out, and had realized that he was still alive. Realizing, the potential and strength of Aquaman, even his brother who had been groomed to succeed his grandfather stepped aside for the boy king.
Time passed. The world moved along, almost completely oblivious to the kingdom of Atlantis save for a select few. The Gyojin were almost unmatched in their technology and power which created a complete utopia for those lucky enough to be born into such power. However, there was another clan that rivaled them in almost every way, the Nekura. The Nekura and the Gyojin were almost completely hidden from the rest of the world, and had advanced so far ahead of those that lived oblivious to them that their strength would be able to more than overtake the 5 Great Nations by themselves. Recognizing this threat and only wanting peace, Aquaman and a woman of great strength who identified herself as an heir to the Nekura throne that could unite them , a daughter of Akuma arranged a union between the two of them to unite the great powers. However, treachery was afoot in these talks. As when Aquaman arrived in Minas Morgul to solidify this occasion with his men, a great explosion robbed him of them, and the world of its peace.
As the explosion went off, chaos immediately ensued and fighting between the two clans broke out. Each one blaming another in a successive number of strikes on each other. Hatred would build between the two clans that shook the ninja world to its core. In one instance, the daughter of Akuma took the life of Aquaman's beloved wife, taking her crown and wearing it as a trophy. All of this would culminate into one final meeting between Aquaman and the young woman on the coast of Minas Morgul where it was revealed that the attacks on each group were engineered by their own respective second in commands backstabbing them in a plot to take over the world. And while Aquaman realized that he had been fooled, he could not allow the Daughter to get away with killing his queen. By this point the 5 great nations had gotten involved in their conflict which caused massive amounts of casualties to everyone involved. In their final encounter, Aquaman suffered a scar across his face from the daughter. However, just as the final blow was about to be struck, a large explosion struck once again that took everything out with it. Aquaman was sure that his life would be taken in this explosion, but took solace that if the hell his father taught him about truly existed, the Demon Daughter would be there to burn with him.
However, as the blast would take him he closed his eyes to brace himself. Opening them, he found himself on the ground in the middle of a field with a strange glowing ring on his finger. What time was it? What happened in that battle? Where was everyone? What was this ring? These questions he had to find an answer to. Gathering himself and moving forward, he set out to do just that

Gyojin Ability
The Gyojin clan share some basic abilities related to their genetic traits, such as: their incredible physical abilities (about 2 times stronger and 1.5 times faster then a regular human), a naturally occurring mucoprotein (common to fish) that is both a protection against bacterial infections but also a natural insulator, the ability to breathe underwater, an uncommon resistance to D-rank and under water techniques, and finally incredible swimming speed

Taijustu
Due to his lineage, Aquaman was blessed with a great deal of strength and speed, able to crush large boulders with a flick of his hand.
Satsui no Hado
Learned through unknown sources, the Dweller of the Depths is able to tap into his anger to bring out a massive amount of strength and energy when needed
Sealing
Aquaman is covered in sealing marks that have presealed weapons, suits, materials, and 2 of which that are located on his wrists contain the same amount of non chakra infused water as 2 Great Exploding Water Colliding Waves each. With these seals he can retrieve any normal object he needs and perform any sealing techniques at will. This includes the Reverse 4 Symbols technique located on his stomach
Water
Being a Gyojin and living most of his life underwater, Aquaman is very closely tied to the element of water and is able to use any water jutsu with a single handseal.
Wind
Aquaman is also closely tied to the winds that whip the waves of the sea about, and can perform all wind Jutsu with increased handseals speed.
Hojojutsu
Surrounded by dark red chains that are tipped with small tridents the end on the inside of his suit, Aquaman has the ability to infuse his chakra with them to control them as he wishes.
Akatsuki Ring
Not knowing the ring's origin, what he does know is that the ring on his finger gives him a great deal of strength in an element completely foreign to him, fire.

Description: One of the ten Akatsuki Rings worn on the right ring finger. This Ring is made out of an Indestructible red stone that increases the fire manipulation abilities of the user. All fire technique's strength are increased by one rank, with the exception of S ranked techniques and above, and Handseals are decreased by 1/2. This ring produces a hidden frequency received by other rings providing a hidden form of communication among ring bearers.
Five times per battle, it can change the properties of a fire technique, giving it Ash, or Gas properties, adding +20 damage instead of +1 rank, but being unable to produce fire techniques in the following turn.
