Raiton known as "Lightning Style" is one of the five basic
elemental nature transformation techniques that allows the user to generate lightning by
Increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and
fast movement. The electricity paralyses the target so that they are unable to move and
leave them vulnerable to a finishing strike. While uncommon, lightning
can be infused into bladed weapons in a way similar to Wind Release through chakra
flow for increased piercing power through vibrations and oscillation, with the added effect of inducing
numbness. When the technique is released from their bodies, and thus not requiring physical contact, it does not move as fast as true lightning. Instead, due to the control the user has to exert over it, it moves far slower, which can give opponents time to still react. Lightning Release is common to the ninja of Kumogakure as it is their natural Affinity.

Relationship with other Natures​

Lightning is strong against earth because it can easily travel through and break the
ground apart but weak against wind because it is a natural electrical insulator. At the
same time, lightning can potentially surpass the penetrative force of wind by increasing
the former's vibration frequency high enough.
Lightning also has a unique relation with water, since water conducts electricity. This
means that a Water Release technique can be used to increase the damage of a
Lightning Release technique and vice versa. Though this also means that if one's
opponent still has a physical connection with water, either a pre-existing source or
one created with their own chakra, then they can be paralysed via their own technique.
Lightning is much more powerful when it utilises natural lightning; a powerful Fire
Release technique shot into the sky can produce thunderclouds in preparation for this.

Why I like Lightning​

:Lightning as an element is kinda rare and uncommon in the ninja world because the ninja's of Kumogakure possess this natural transformation. The 3rd and 4th raikage and their clan developed a special technique, they manipulate Lightning chakra to form a sort of shield that increases their human abilities and it seems almost impenetrable. Aother jutsu of the kind is the Thrust Fingers of Hell where Lightning is manipulated to the tips of their fingers giving it great piercing ability, it is said that the less the fingers the deadlier it becomes. Another notable ninja from konoha in person of Hatake Kakashi and Sasuke Uchiha. Kakashi invented Chidori and Raikiri the Lightning Blade and other forms of Chidori that Sasuke learnt. Other ninjas that uses the Lightning style are : Darui, Omoi, Fuka, Killer Bee etc.

Alright, that is looking good. Now, if you take this piece of paper and channel your Raiton chakra through it, it will begin to shrivel up into a smaller, wrinkled, brown version of what it is now. You seem to have an idea of how lightning chakra is produced and works, based off of your previous post, so use that to explain how channeling your chakra can create the Raiton nature to a degree where the paper is affected.

I collect the piece of paper from Sensei, Imagining what Sensei said the paper will look like when Raiton chakra as passed through it,then holding it at my finger tips, I start channelling Chakra then I nature manipulate it to Raiton then a thought grows in my mind "how am I supposed to know when to stop". Neglecting this thought I continue channelling the Raiton chakra increasing the frequency and Oscillation of my chakra with its contact with the paper, it starts to wrinkle bit by bit,changing its appearance and shape,it becomes small and smaller, an the appropriate time I stop the chakra channelling and Manipulation to see what I did, and it turns out to be like what Sensei said in the first instance.

I want you to focus on your chakra system and gather your raw chakra from all over your body. Send the chakra through your arm all the way to your finger tips. Small bolts of lightning will be released from your fingers and should shock the dummy. Straight forward nothing to much about this technique.

(Raiton no Jutsu) - Lightning Release Technique ​

I start by focusing on my chakra system having a clear picture in mind,i gather raw chakra from my body, Sending the chakra through my arm all the way to my finger tips.
Then I manipulate the nature of the chakra into raiton chakra by increasing the Vibrations and Oscillation of the chakra and thereby releasing the transmitted raiton chakra towards the dummy next to my senpai. Having done this exactly has senpai said, Small bolts of lightning is released from my fingers and it shocks the dummy.

Same as before ocus on your chakra system and gather your raw chakra from all over your body. Send the chakra through your arm all the way to the palm of your hand. Manipulate the nature of the chakra into raiton chakra and slam your hand on the ground and release a surge of lightning through the ground towards the dummy standing next to me. The lightning will shock the dummy from underneath.

More like the first technique,I start by focusing on my chakra system and I gather my raw chakra from all over my body, Sending the chakra through my arm all the way to the palm of my hands. I then manipulate the nature of the chakra into raiton chakra by increasing the vibrations and oscillation of my chakra, I then slam my hand on the ground to releases a surge of lightning through the ground towards the dummy standing next to senpai. The lightning shocks the dummy from underneath.

Okay the description is not much to work with but I will try to explain it best. This is very similar to the previous jutsu we learned. Focus your chakra and channel it to one of your hands, and then change your chakra into lightning as you release it forward. Manipulate the released lightning into a wave of small lightning bolts that you shoot at the dummy. and...GO!

How to use the template and fill it out effectively. This will also help your career in RP but it is quite a read though I do expect you to read it and carefully at that. I will notice if you have or not, and failure to write out the template correctly will result in a re-do of the jutsu(s).

Performance
When it comes to the performing point of the template, its all about imagination but this one is considered the most obvious of the whole template. When the student performs something you need to paint a picture in the teachers head to give them a clear image of everything that is going on and how you are reacting or feeling about the jutsu. Each jutsu will give different feelings and reaction. It is your job simply to show me how and what you are feeling and what is going on when performing the jutsus.

The things I expect in the performance are two things that are most important when performing the jutsus. The first is called Nature Manipulation. Nature manipulation is when the user will manipulate or control their raw chakra to change in basic nature which is one of the five basic elements. Now most people like to simply say something like this:

I gather my chakra and nature manipulate it into lightning chakra.

Yes this is okay but where is the creativity or the respect of actually wanting to perform and feel the jutsu? Now to explain every basic element properly on how to manipulate chakra into nature with more imagination and creativity such examples like this would work.

With my raw chakra gathered I begin to take focus upon the chakra. I begin to think of the warmth of the very sun and the blazing heat it gives off, I condense the chakra and finally mold the chakras nature into fire.

After gathering my chakra, I begin to take full control over it. I sharpen the chakra having the precious sharpness that surpasses that of a sword. Successfully I mold the chakra into wind chakra.

Now this is pretty much the basis when it comes to nature manipulation on how I see fit and what is best to impress your teacher. Now if you are wondering about how should I explain all the natures, well think about their property. Lightning has high frequent vibration and electrical sharpness, fire is superheated and blazing warm, water is free-flowing and very flexible, earth is rough and versatile, wind is sharp and thin with great accuracy. To be able to explain them you simply have to free your mind and become as creative as you can.

Now I can understand some times you don't want to go that deep into the jutsu because some are more simple then others and I can understand that, all I ask is to try and not be lazy with it.

The second thing that is most important when performing a jutsu correctly is called Shape manipulation. Now this is when you take the chakra or the chakra nature and shape it into any form or shape it requires to be properly formed. Shapes include spheres, animals (All types), blades, ect. This is all about attention to detail, and how precious you want to be when trying to perform the jutsu. Now here is a regular example that is done usually.

I manipulate the shape of my chakra to form a bullet.

Though again, that is not exactly wrong but where is the fun and creativity in that? This is all about paying attention to detail and how much you want to focus up on it. Here are some other examples that are more suffice.

After gathering my lightning chakra, I lengthen its size and sharpen the edge of the chakra to create a spear of lightning.

As I gather my chakra and release it forward, I begin to shape it and make it round as well as smooth leaving no bumps to create a spherical ball of chakra.

This is pretty much all it takes nothing more or less. You do not need to go extreme but detail is always best not only for me as a teacher but when you get in the habit of making proper and creative replies it will follow you in battle and help you greatly their when the time comes.

Creative uses/strengths

Now we are getting to the important part of all this. Now with this template I expect two things each with a total amount of detail. What I mean is firstly I expect you to tell me the strengths of a certain jutsu, I don't care how it works. I want to know what makes it useful. Things like that can include the jutsu is able to move in all ranges giving it a large amount of mobility. Another is you can send multiple attacks with one jutsu to attack more then one opponent or trying to barrage the opponent with attacks to make evasion difficult. Yes this are quite the small strengths but stuff like this count in the eyes of a teacher and needs to be taken in account. Though those are just some small examples what you really need to do is look into the jutsu itself. Try adding all or as much strengths with what you see in the jutsu. Also I understand some jutsus are more simple then others and might not have as much advantages but that is okay, its all about trying and thinking about it. But I do expect 1-3 strengths mentioned.

Lastly to perfect the strength portion, this is simple but something so many students fail to do. When you give a strength explain why that is considered a strength. Yes explain why. This is the most important part because it shows us how you plan on using it in battle and the teacher will be able to pick out what you have done wrong specifically. So simply saying it goes long range does not make it a hardcore advantage because if you think about it, that can also be considered a disadvantage. So by saying that it is very wrong and can confuse the teacher, all we really do is assume and guess what you are trying to say. So trying to perfect it, you would need to say something like this.This is the correct and proper way in doing the strength portion of the template.

The jutsu goes in long range, because of this the opponent will not be able to evade that easily by just pushing back and it can correspond with other jutsus.

Now the second portion of the template is creative usages. What is this is simply a combo or something you would do with the jutsu. This helps the teachers notice your style and what you are likely to accomplish in fighting so if you are doing anything wrong we can inject it and fix it so you do not make a mistake in battle. This is all about just being creative, every jutsu has a unique usage and can be used creatively or at the very least used in correspondence with other jutsus to create a combo to attack the opponent or turn the table on them.

Simple combos are of all kind, and most teachers will explain the jutsus usually giving a combo or a usage you can use, but it is the very basic of it. It is simply meant to show you how it is meant to be used or just to give you an idea. All because the teacher says it does not mean we want you to repeat what we said. You need to come up with another detail or combo. Simple combos could be like sending a fire jutsu towards the opponent and then use a jutsu to shake the ground to put the opponent off balance so it will be hard to react with the attack, and a more powerful combo could be when sending a fire jutsu direct it towards the ground and then send a single blade of wind behind the fire, which you can then activate the blade to turn into a hurricane to create a powerful fire vortex. Though with newer RPers they tend to sometimes use basic combos because they have seen less of the jutsu list or understand it less then others, but when you move on and learn more jutsu creating combos become much more easier and you begin to take action effectively.

Drawbacks/counters

Now this is the complete opposite of the strengths and creative usages. This is as equal as the strengths and creative usages for it allows the teacher to see exactly how is your understanding of the jutsu. Usually when people look at jutsus they tend to leave this with very little detail and failure to explain it properly. This is because many people believe disadvantages are to obvious to try and explain on why its a disadvantage which is the wrong mentality when doing this point. There are things with drawbacks and counter that need to be taken in account. What I usually expect from the student here is at least 1-3 drawbacks and at least one counter for the jutsu you would do.

Drawbacks when looking into it is not explained from the student, it is usually because of the double standards people give to jutsus. As I explained in the above long range attacks would be great attacks but their are disadvantages to them, one being is if the opponent is long range it will take much more time for the attack to reach the opponent so they will be able to counter the attack with ease. The thing is when it comes to advantages their will always be a disadvantage to that very thing. If something is great to use in short range battle it is useless in long range, if the jutsu is a projectile technique it can be used with combos but the jutsu will usually be straightforward and easy to anticipate. This is something always to consider when writing disadvantages that they're will always be one as long as you have listed advantages or mention them. So if you have two advantages mentioned then their is a huge likely hood that their will be two disadvantages with that, so their should not be much of a ratio difference between the two.

Listing proper drawbacks all depends on the way you fight and how you see the jutsu being used, usually it is looked at if the jutsu is sent or used against you, what would be the initial weaknesses you would sense. Firstly too look into listing them you have to take account everything in your senses and the jutsu concept. When it comes to the senses examples include if you send a large fire attack towards the opponent you will likely not be able to see through the fire so you won't be able to see how they are moving or what they are doing. If the opponent tries to use a jutsu with earth release that uses the ground as a medium you will be able to use your sense of feel, to feel the density of the ground begin to shift or change. Stuff like this are obvious disadvantages. Now when it comes with the jutsu concept those are usually the usual people tend to look into, so lets say the chidori only works in close range battle so it can't be used for anything but close range battle limiting the jutsu. Also jutsus that have long list of hand seals are disadvantages because it might take some time to perform the jutsu leaving you open. Streaming techniques are usually not good to use with combos but you have complete control where you aim them. (Notice their how their is a disadvantage but also a advantage because of that ability)

Lastly when it comes to countering the jutsu. Now how teachers picture your combos is usually as if the jutsu has already been sent so saying things like:

While he is performing the long list of hand seals I will send an attack before he completed them.

Yes they work but it will not always be the case like that so you need to be able to counter it as if it was already sent, though its not bad to mention that aspect saying because of the hand seals you can counter before he completes them but it is not what we look at, you are not simulating a battle situation, and that is what teachers what you to try to do and how they want to teach as if you were in battle. Remember when we were talking about how disadvantages work? Those are usually what a person will look at when trying to counter the jutsu, so lets say the opponent sends a lightning blade towards you as a projectile attack, this is what is acceptable.

Due to the fact it is straight forward and easy to notice (See the disadvantage) I can simply figure out where it is heading and I can create a dense defense like a wall or try to overpower it.

So using those disadvantages you listen can be used to make the proper counter towards the jutsu so remember that.

Lastly it is the type of counters we want to see. When it comes to countering a jutsu we don't want you just to stop the jutsu, we want you to turn the table and go on the offense so to impress try to add ways to not only defend but attack as well. Also try not to spam the same counter over and over, what I mean by that is if the opponent sends a lightning attack don't just say:

I will send a wind attack to overpower it.

That is far to generic, yes some techs are more straightforward then others but those should be the ones you can formulate better counters with, its okay to experiment and say something new or outside the box, that is what teachers want to see and what they expect. So instead of using a wind jutsu, why not use a water pillar to launch you in the air and then send a attack to go on the quick offense? Simple yes, but at least it is not generic and overdone.

So that is the basis of everything, all in all try to have fun and be creative with it, this is meant for enjoyment as well as a learning experience.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Tiger → Snake → Dog the user creates an electric current from their hand that can hit multiple individuals at the same time. Furthermore, it extends into incredible distances and can avoid obstacles.

After performing some hand seals the user will gather raiton chakra on their hands and send a electric current from the hand which can attack several different targets of your choosing. Now its very handy because how far it can travel, it also has the ability to avoid obstacles that is covering your opponent. Its a streaming type technique so you will have to keep releasing it and focus on the technique for it travel, dodge, and hit the opponent. Overall its a great finishing combo technique and can really force the opponent to have to try and evade. Simple to counter as well with wind jutsu.

Description: This jutsu allows the user to create a wave of electricity from the user's hands. This jutsu can vary in power from a small surge to shock an opponent to a powerful stream of lightning capable of ripping through solid rock. It is ideal to use in conjunction with a water jutsu.

Okay a very simple technique, the user will send a wave of raiton energy from their hands towards the opponent. Depending on how the user uses the technique it can be a stream or a projectile technique. Now it is very simply nothing much to it, its straightforward and moves normal speed. Its best to use with a water technique to give it a more potential attack. Its fast to perform as well. I recommend using this as a projectile technique so you can send one attack after the other to make it harder on the opponent. Now due to it being a straightforward technique evasion is simple as well as blocking. You can use a wind technique to negate. Also with lightning properties if contacted with it, the opponent will be shocked.

( Raiton: Raigeki) - Lightning Release: Electric Attack As senpai explains the technique vividly,putting my imagination to work,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as a cool breeze blows,I feel the warmth of the environment then I start increasing the frequency and vibration of the chakra, finally kneading the chakra into raiton, at the same time, I perform the Tiger → Snake → Dog hand seals still with a clear picture in my mind, while the hand seals were being performed, I gather raiton chakra on my hand ( Right) and I send an electric current from the hand to attack the multiple dummies in front of me, I keep releasing the current and keeping Focus to allow the technique to Dodge unwanted dummies and hit the required one for accuracy and perfection of the jutsu.

As senpai finishes explaining the next technique I am to perform, having a lot of experience with my imaginations,its no new thing to imagine an illustrated jutsu ,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as the sun shines bright,I feel the high intensity of the sun then I start increasing the frequency the chakra, increasing its oscillation,I finally mold the chakra into raiton chakra and I send a gradual wave of the changed chakra (raiton) from my hands towards the dummies behind me (since the ones in front of me were destroyed by the earlier jutsu) since I have earlier performed a streaming jutsu,I decided to use it as a projectile tech as directed by senpai.

Creative uses/strengths​

• Although it moves at normal speed, it is fast to perform since it requires no hand seals.
• If used as a projectile technique (I.e sending an attack after the other) it makes it harder on opponents
• For a more potential attack, it is best used with a water justu ( since water conducts electricity and water jutsu are used to increase Lightning attacks damage)

The user will gather lightning on the palm of their hand, condense it into a electrical ball of energy. The user will then proceed to throw it towards the opponent. It travels very fast to an opponent, its a projectile and its fast to make. You can aim it anywhere as well as use it in combo attacks. A very simple and straightforward technique you can easily just evade or overpower it.

Description: The user surrounds themselves with electricity. The intense electric field protects them by electrocuting anyone who comes into contact with it, but only works for one attack.

I like this technique, was my first ever favorite. Now its very fast to perform and set up. This jutsu when active stays active for more then one turn unless already used to block an attack or attack an opponent when in range. Also this gives you a serious advantage in short range battle. Especially if used correctly when you get in range, set it up and take the fight head on. A huge downfall is you are completely open for water attacks, one hit of water and you will be shocked better, its easy for an opponent to figure it out as well since the lightning is visible and you can hear the cracking of lightning, use with caution.

As senpai explains the next technique
applying my effort reluctantly,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as the cool autumn breeze blows,I feel the warmth of the environment then I start increasing the frequency and vibration of the chakra, finally moulding the chakra into raiton, I gather lightning on my palm successfully condensing it into a ball of electrical energy, I throw it towards the dummy by my Left ripping its head off,because my aim was its head.

Creative Uses/Strengths ​

• Its a projectile technique that requires no hand seals making it fast to make in battle.
• It is perfect for finishing a combo move or making it part of a ninja combo.
• If used with a water jutsu,the result would be devastating because water conducts electricity

Drawbacks/Counters ​

• A simple elemental wall of higher rank can be used to counter it.
• It can be easily evaded and overpowered by a skillful and an experienced Ninja/Shinobi

As senpai explains the next technique applying my focus as before,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as the cool autumn breeze blows,I feel the warmth of the environment then I start increasing the frequency and vibration of the chakra, finally moulding the chakra into raiton, I start generating out gradually through my sweat pores releasing an Intense electric field. Then I make a run towards a dummy that I gave a punch,due to the intense electrical field it got electrocuted and the armour wore off, because it works only for one attack.

Creative Uses/Strengths ​

• It provides capable advantages in short range fights.
• It is more like a multi-purpose jutsu since it can be used to attack and defend.

Drawbacks/Counters ​

• The user is vulnerable to water attacks causing damage to himself(I.e the user would be shocked)
• When hit with a jutsu it wears off making that a major disadvantage because as it wears off, for a second he is open to counter-attack.

(Raiton: Iwa Nadare) - Lightning Style: Stone Avalanche

Descripton: By forming hand seals Snake → Upside down Tiger → Hands clapped together when near a cliff , the user causes stone and rock to become dislodged and rain down on anyone below it by releasing a wave of electrical energy which weakens the rock and makes it fall as it crumbles. However, this is extremely location-based and needs to be done uphill of a mountain for it to work.

Okay this technique has some serious explanation. Okay the user will do two hand seals and clap their hands, they keep their hands clapped together which puts the user at disadvantage since if they let their hands go the jutsu will be released and the jutsu will stop. So while keeping their hands together they will run up a cliff while sending a electrical surge towards the cliff allowing the rocks to losen causing a rock avalanche to happen. The rocks will be very thick with debris and have chunks of rocks which can harm an opponent if caught though this technique is best used with combo, after you send the rocks. You can release your hands and perform a technique of any kind, I prefer to use a quick jutsu that can go through the debris and attack the opponent before they can react. Now ways to counter are simple, you can use a wind jutsu to blow the rocks and debris away without any effort. Funny thing is though lightning is used to set the jutsu, the rocks cause the damage to happen to a opponent. This is very location based making it difficult to use just anywhere. Be weary and concentrate on your terrain. Also while you are running the rocks are being dislodged so rocks will constantly fall while you run.

Description: The user will raise their hand infront of them like a sword and it will begin glowing a pale yellow before releasing bolts of lightning in the shapt of a horn that spread outwards allowing it to attack multiple targets.

Okay the user will raise their hands infront of themselves like a sword. It will begin to glow and release bolts of lightning shaped as a horn. This is very simple and fast to perform. A projectile based technique so you can sent constant attacks following this one. The most notable and best part of the jutsu is it spreads outwards giving it the ability to attack more then one target in the area. That is a huge plus if you are out numbered. Also its clear so you can see through it. Being a projectile justu and a wide spread technique you can use this in combos in a multitude of ways. Making the ground shake and send it towards the opponent or hurt the opponents vision and sending it forward making it hard to notice it. Another one is is their is ever a mist or debris of smoke between the fighters you can use this technique as a way to attack the user and know it will spread wide enough to hit an opponent. Ways to counter is it goes straight and spreads only wide. Going in the air or underground can work but be weary how. Later on you can use another raiton jutsu to cut through it. Fairly simple.

As sensei explains the next technique applying my focus as before,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as the cool autumn breeze blows,I feel the warmth of the environment then I start increasing the frequency and vibration of the chakra, finally moulding the chakra into raiton, I start running up the face of the cliff carefully observing the dummy's location while performing the Snake » Upside down Tiger » Hands clapped together hand seals I concentrate a sufficient amount of my chakra in my hands, I release through my hand shape
manipulating it into a wave of lightning which I send at the
top of the cliff dismantling the rocks and making it rain
down on the dummy under the cliff crushing it (the chunks and debris fall on it)

Creative Uses/Strengths ​

• It can kill an opponent under a cliff (or an elemental earth technique that raises earth above the opponent)
• It requires only three hand seals to perform it successfully.

Drawbacks/Counters ​

• It requires a cliff or an uphill of a mountain to perform.
• It can't be perform at just any location.
• It can be blown away with a wind jutsu of a higher rank

As sensei explains the next technique applying my focus as before,I start gathering chakra from the whole of my body,as the cool autumn breeze blows,I feel the warmth of the environment then I start increasing the frequency and vibration of the chakra, finally moulding the chakra into raiton,I continue by raising my hand outwards like a sword pointed at the three dummies at my front, I then start concentrating the manipulated chakra into
the hand raised which I emit from my hand showing a
yellow glow ,I then release the chakra manipulating
it into bolts of lightning that by increasing its length and width slowly making it look like horns spreading it out to attack the dummies as bolts of lightning at the same time.

• It is used to attack multiple targets at the same time.
• It has no required hand seals to successfully perform this technique.

Draw backs/counters​

• It requires the extension of the user's hand making his ribs open/vulnerable to attacks
• It can be easily invaded by going underground or in the air

( Raiton: Inazuma ken Fudou ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Blades Levitation

Description: The user will channel their lightning chakra into their sword to increase its cutting capabilities, and then levitate it in front of them. They will then multiply the sword creating two extra physical copies which are then all manipulated to spin rapidly and are controlled to fly towards and cut through the opponent/s through hand gestures. While controlling the weapons, the user cannot mold chakra for other techniques and needs to keep focus.

Okay with the use of a sword, the user will channel lightning into the sword increasing its destructive abilites. They will then manipulate the chakra in the sword to have it levitate in front of them. The using shape manipulating multiply the sword creating another two physical copies made of lightning. They then spin rapidly which finally a user will send towards the opponent cutting them badly if hit. Okay this is a slow performance technique as well as you must remain concentrated to execute perfectly. They move at normal speed as well. To be honest I'm on the edge of this though you have many projectile attacks you must remain focus for the duration of the performance and it certainly takes a while to perform despite being a very sharp jutsu. I recommend you try to distract the opponent before you use this technique to have a large enough time window to perform perfectly. It can at least attack multiple targets which is a plus.

Description: The user will manipulate their lightning chakra in their dominant hand generating electrical bolts of lightning around their forearm and they then jump into the air. The user will then land slamming their palm onto the ground causing the electrical energy to become discharged sending out bolts of lightning into the ground and around them up to 5 meters.

The user will gather a large sum of lightning chakra into their hand and forearm, then they will jump high into the air. When the begin to descend back to the ground they will forcefully slam their palm on the ground sending a electrical energy through the ground up to a 5 meter radius everywhere in short range, you can also send it forward towards an opponent. Its easy but your vulnerable in the air so watch out and since this is mainly to use for close range battle the opponent can easily react quickly. Also right when you release the lightning in the ground you can go straight to another jutsu with quick succession. This can also great away earth material that may be under you, so its great to break away spikes as well.
