OT: No. I actually remember someone (probably Sir Derp) showing that the marks are a part of some Japanese culture signifying the eldest of a family that would take over or something.

I thought it was war paint?
Could be, I just thought that it looked awfully similar to the sage mode markings.

It's actually an artistic makeup called Kumadori, the paint denotes the moods, feelings and intentions of the character in a Kabuki Play:

Based on the design of the Elder Son's Kumadori it appears to denote a character with bad intentions fueled by hatred, his clipped eyebrows is the sign of nobility in Ancient Japan particularly the eldest son of a noble clan.
