Kakashi could go back since he was the 6th, Sakura actually has a pretty high chance too since she was taught by both the 5th and 6th, Sasuke for the obvious reasons of being the only strongest person left in said the village and world. Team 7 pretty much.

I don't see Shikamaru becoming Hokage or he would have easily taken it from Naruto after Kakashi he is more of the assistant.

I don't think his relation to Mirai affects his credibility. Regardless, I just don't see Konohamaru as a Kage-level Shinobi yet. I heard that he got in trouble with Naruto because he destroyed a house with his Rasengan in the Boruto movie, which shows he's kinda reckless. Also, his students took him down pretty easily during their bell test (with a sexy jutsu nonetheless). Maybe after a few more years, he'll reach Kage-level, but right now...I'm honestly questioning how he's qualified to be a jonin.

If Shikamaru doesn't want too then I see Konohamaru taking the role. You have to be nominated for the candidate for being Hokage and I'm sure more people trust and like Shikamaru, Konohamaru and Sakura more than Sasuke who was an enemy of the village for about 4 years then not even in the village much; sure they'll think of him as a comrade now but the others were comrades for a longer period than Sasuke was.

You don't need power to be Hokage, anyways the 3 mentioned are Jounin level or stronger (Sakura) just like how Kakashi was made Hokage as a Jounin level. I see them asking the three in the same order I mentioned them above^.

Konohamaru is only like 5 years younger than Naruto, so unless naruto dies really soon which i doubt, then by the time Naruto retires, Konahamaru would be too old aswell to become hokage. Sides, I dont think Konohamaru is strong enough to be hokage, he is more like Ebisu

Since Sasuke isn't interested in the position and handles things from the shadows, and Kakashi is too lazy to re-take the position, Sakura would be the best option.

I'd actually place my bet on Sakura. She is the Student of the 5th and 6th Hokage and (I'm being realistic here) aside from Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, the only other one who has faced Kaguya and lived to tell the tale.


She is also the 3rd strongest ninja in the village currently (no this is not a troll she actually is)

Sasuke just doesn't seem like Hokage material. Not that he lacks the power, but I don't picture him doing paper work all day behind a desk XD

Candidates I think would be Shikamaru, Sakura, Sasuke if not Kakashi.

Sakura because she is the apprentice of the 5th hokage, who was the grand daughter of the 1st and student of the 3rd. The 3rd was also the student of the 2nd, who was the brother of the 1st. Her master was also said to be equal to the man who was the 4th's master. Sakura is also student of the 6th and teammate of the 7th. And wife of Sasuke and queen to the Uchiha. And has proven her strength and herself as a major asset to the lead village. She is fit to be hokage and is directly and indirectly connected to all the hokage and other strong people further reinforces her credibility.

Shikamaru is just really smart, he should be like a master general. Sasuke is too busy being the man behind the curtain.

This could also act as a transition of the Hokage mantle to the Uchiha (since like Draw mentioned she is pretty much connected to all previous Hokage), she could take the position before passing the it to her daughter Sarada, to be the Ninth Hokage.

That's why it makes sense for Sarada to become hokage
