2)The caster can control the Edo's completely, right down to being able to alter personalities, plant emotions, fake memories, etc. The caster can also read the Edo's memories and thoughts.

3)No drawbacks, doesn't even cost chakra as the chakra would be replenished from the newly revived.

Nah. When the edo tensei is regenerating, it can either be sealed quickly or someone with rinnegan can absorb edo tensei since it is ninjutsu.
