Can they voluntarily still release the summoning the same way Hanzou and Sasori did? Becaise I think I heard Kabuto say something about strengthening the seal.

yeah before he still had some of there will powere so tht they could use simelar fighting styles or something along those lines but now its more the way orochimaru done it agenst the 3rd where they have absolutly no free will all they can do is talk

Kabuto strengthened the seal however he can't get rid of every Edo Tensai summons conucisness at once, however he wants some of them to remain in their mind for psycological reasons to mess with his opponents. The summons can be set free by having a revelations, which allows them to rest in peace however once their mind is obliterated by Kabuto they have no more say in how they feel and the only way to get rid of them is for Kabuto to release the summon or for them to be sealed off. For most he's getting rid of their minds but for some of the more relevant and seen characters in the manga like Zabuza, Dan, Asuma, he keeps their emotion around to mess with their opponents. Shinobi we haven't seen in fights before and their emotion like the previous kage and Hanzo I guess Kishi has that done to allow us to see how the characters actually acted and for those irrelevant like that metal release user we don't really care about.
