Yes, he could summon them. I'm sure he knew a lot about sage mode...but unlike Naruto and Sasuke he relies on his own power. Its only something he uses when he needs to. He'd die before he summon them and or use sage mode...already have so he used it anyways. Minato is boss.

It isn't that he insists on relying on his own power, he just sucks at Sage Mode. Besides the point anyway, because Sage Mode is still your own power, just greatly enhanced.

No. He doesn't need it...when besides now did he ever need sage mode? Its enhances your overall moves, but he's basically instant...who besides sage related people can react to instant? No one. They can react to his movement after the instant warp, but that's nearly impossible. Sage mode is not your power. Idc what people say about this. Its sage mode. That's like saying curse mark is Sasuke's power even though it changes his entire body and or makes him fly.
