Let's say Kakashi died during the Invasion of Pain arc and wasn't revived. I'm almost certain Kabuto would've resurrected him via IWR (he is famous, after all). You may notice how much he laments over the fact that he's resurrected here. I put that in because, during the Invasion of Pain arc, just before he dies, he has a lot of regrets. So it's continued here, when he "wakes up".
