No it isn't. Itachi was caught in the sound ninjutsu and needed Sasuke to break him out.

Proof: chapter 586 is a repeat of 581 (where he said he will activate inzanami).

Bonus: 586 if you look were itachi was "sliced," you see kabuto shocked at itachi disappearing and re-appearing on top of the ceiling were he got stabbed instead of regenerating.

itachi had inzanami activated, stop with the stupid biased mind, there is no way in hell itachi would get killed by a genjustu that a chuunin shikamaru broke out of.

As the title says, in edo mode, he was able to allow himself to be bisected to use his izanami, maybe it was necessary to use the jutsu maybe it wasn't but it seems to turn out that edo itachi used that moment to use the izanami technique. However, if he has to allow himself to be hit that way and he was actually alive, he would not have been able to beat dragon sage kabuto at all. Especially with the fact that they needed to force kabuto to release edo tensei and not kill him.

Sasuke was obviously holding the guy back. Example;
Instead of jumping infront of sasuke to save his ass, he could have protected himself and not take a few stalagmites and stalagtites.
Instead of using susano'o to protect sasuke during white rage, he could have protected himself.
Instead of assisting sasuke against the orochimaru mode, he could have protected himself and not get an oral-rebirthed-bisection.
Instead of wanting to capture kabuto, he could have just killed him, and even used amaterasu to burn him
Instead of using yasaka magatama to hit the cave ceiling, he could have used that oppotunity to hit him, then blow him to bits with susano'o while he's incapacitated

and on and on and on.

If itachi would had wanted, kabuto would had been dead!. AMATARESU!

what people forget is that.

itachi wasnt/couldnt kill kabuto until he broke hold edo tensi jutsu.

Otherwise that battle would have been completely different, and kabuto would either be stuck in the gourd or used whatever orochimaru did to troll a direct hit from the sealing blade
