I think IT just doesn't work like any other genjustu. It doesn't mess with the chakra network but effects the brain directly. Kaguya used it on people before her son spread chakra around, IIRC.

I doubt you thought of this but if you look back at when the edo Hokages where brought into play what bodies did they use to resurrect them. They used the bodies of white zetsu for each of them. This is probably why they are immune to Infinite Tsukyomi. Zetsu is not technically alive and is being farmed as an army. They may be affected if they used the bodies of recently dead ninjas instead.

But Orochimaru also took a Zetsu body, yet he fell under Infinite Tsukuyomi. If taking Zetsu bodies makes you immune, then shouldn't Orochimaru be immune to Infinite Tsukuyomi too ?
