No it is not. Hiruzen was a sensory ninja since part 1. When he uses his Crystal Ball Technique to watch people in the village he must first sense their chakra for them to appear in his ball. A feat that is often overlooked on him.

And? I think you feel foolish that something was under your nose the whole time and you never noticed! Don't be mad at me, blame Kishimoto!

Where has it been stated that chakra needed to be sense for it to work?

The First Databook.

This is the scan but its in Japanese. Here is the Viz Translation, got it from NarutoForums

Databook 1 - Toomegane no Jutsu:
NINJUTSU; Toomegane no jutsu (Telescopic Observation technique*)
User: Sandaime
Supplementary; Long range; Rank: A

Main text

A jutsu that uses a crystal ball to track a particular individual anywhere they are. There are a few restrictions about the person that is subjected to pursuit. The caster must know that person's chakra pattern. If someone can be targeted for pursuit, they may be miles and miles far away, the crystal ball will be able to confirm their position. As this jutsu is unfallible for intelligence purposes, Sandaime Hokage uses it to maintain public order in the village.

Caption

-The unfathomable clairvoyance that sees everything without obstruction.

Picture comment

-If the targeted individual is inside the village of Konoha, they will be observable even on top of a mountain or in the middle of the ocean.

To know someones chakra pattern you must be able to sense it. Its unfallible too, means it always work and never fails. If Hiruzen can sense your chakra, you and your location will appear in his ball.

I guess that makes sense. "Chakra pattern" can be interpret in other ways but I rather believe in Hiruzen.

Danzo admitting inferiority? People still can't read manga context properly lol.

He absolutely did.
Its not like i just claimed that w/o thinking and doing my research you know U_U I'm all about context and i've analysed his remark thoroughly!!!

He said he couldn't catch up to Hiruzen, that he couldn't become Hokage. And why couldn't he become Hokage? Because Hiruzen was (and continued to be) the most skilled, since his election to the day he went to his grave. He could never compete against such a genius.
There might be room for argument, but this is my take on his words.

Hiruzen was made Hokage because he was the most level headed.

Danzo means by catching up that he could never accomplish what Hiruzen did.

Yes

No. That would be contradicting its purpose if he decides to sacrifice the eye other wise he would be dead permanently, from the damage he had taken.

No the risk is to make it in time to activate, since he turned it off ( )

Due to it being imcomplete in Danzo's case. Each eye carries 60 secs of "god mode"[ ]

okay thanks for explanation , so he can die so many times he want in 1 minute, but after 1 minute the eye closes whether he suffered injures or not, until he deactivates it !

That has advantages and disadvantages, but hiruzen has no intel about it, and izanagi can be also used like a s/t ninjutsu, when danzo knows a sealing jutsu he can easily after getting smashed by sty in hiruzens arsenal, appear right behind him to cast his binding jutsu.

Even tough hiruzen has the elemental advantage, izanagi is to sick now that i understand it right.

Doesn't change the fact Danzo wasnt in his prime and that context here sounds much better in Viz.

Stop trying to change these scans to portray of Hiruzen dealing with what Danzo is capable of doing now. Hiruzen = Danzo in combat.

And until prime Hiruzen is revealed >>> Danzo

Hiruzen wasn't in his prime either. What's the point?
I can't find a link of the viz, but i have the manga right next to me and these are his words: "Despite how i act, i take pride in myself as the most accomplished of this bunch... i won't die". The message remains the same.

Besides, its not like the manga needs to confirm who's all around the most skilled. Hiruzen easily stands out as the best in most areas.
The only reason why i claimed this can go either way if we go by feats its because Hiruzen's stamina could fail him in battle (which is not a problem under the op's conditions anyway).

Since KA Is restricted, and Hiruzen is Edo, I am going with the Third Hokage
