EMS Madara (his prime) lost to hashirama at VoTE, by a small margin, it's clear that Madara gave his best and lost, but only fought for the DNA [
In Madara's recollection of Memory, Hashirama is the only person capable of fighting on equal terms with and actually stopping him. One may say that they're fight at VoTE was inconclusive as they both survived and its really clear that Hashirama was only a bit stronger as EMS Madara bested the Remains of shinshuusenju without the kyuubi's help and beat Hashirama out of Sage Mode. Edo Madara is much beyond his prime; self explanatory.

] yet Hashirama failed to kill Madara, now thinking he had done so. If this is the case then what about Your scan ? where Madara states: "Hashirama is the only one cable of stopping me", It is often mis-interpreted, but madara clarifies it however:

Okay, so if you wanna take everything madara says for fact then why dont you take
Madara clearly says that if he knew the kage were so weak then he would've taught hashi to rise from the dead. Now tell me, why would madara want to revive the only one who can stop him and his plan?
If madara knew that hashi is the only one who can defeat him, then he wouldnt make such a foolish statement such as wanting his ass handed to him by the person he revives...Point being, if you take one of his statements for fact then you take them all for fact. But thats impossible because they're in direct contradiction to one another, proving them to be exaggerations.
With all of that being said, its obvious that madara was just taunting and undermining the kage, to try and get them to lose their fighting spirit. He wanted to put himself and hashirama on a completely different level than his current opponents.
And finally, Its manga fact that edo madara is better than his prime, while hashi isnt even at full power. So logic dictates that if hashi barely won the fight with EMS madara at full power, then he would lose to edo madara at less than full power.

hashirama wins. all of madaras new techs are millions of times weaker than PS so he basically has nothing that can make him stronger than his ems counterpart.

Hashi was almost equally matched against madara with EMS the current madara has the rinnegan and not to mention his ultimate kekkai genkai Mokuton and also has the juubi nice proof anyway but he said could he didn't say that he can

madaras opinion counts for little. hashirama has no seals so he cant stop him. and madara hasnt met or fought every shinobi in the world so he wouldnt know that

Hashirama had big problems to defeat ems Madara and now madara got rinnegan and wood release he just destroy hashirama with low diff
Read the page again. He said "was" which is past tense. Meaning Hashirama could stop him back then as they were close to being equal with Hashirama being abit stronger...Not now sorry
