There is no point in marking someone. If Minato can get close enough to mark someone, stabbing them would be just as fast and an instant kill.


If Minato stabbed right through Obito instead of marking him during the 9tail attack, in that critical moment, we wouldn't even have a world war.

Yup stabbing juubito would insta kil, and obito did get stabbed anyway I believe but the senju cells though, also I kind of agree and kinda don't as some ppl can resist a stab and marking makes movement and reach faster

Which has not been the case.
Your making it seem as if minato chose not tkill his target and mark them.
the man has two arms.
Ever stop to think maybe the arm closest to the tartget is the one he will strike with ?
Is he close enough to a vital point ? then stab him
Not close set up for a instant kill ? Then mark him and get it right the next time indefinitely.

He marked him when he hit him with a rasengan though. i would imagine a rasengan would be deadlier than a stab wound so its fair to say that marking him was the best thing to do to ensure he could hit him again. besides not marking obito is stupid when you realize his S/T jutsu was the best one at that point in the manga

Stab him with poison. Mark him with an explosive or explosive tag.
