Earth is the land, it is always present and unmoving but in reality it is always in motion and and ever changing
Probably the most obvious way to use earth would be for defense like making a dome over oneself with it or making a slab at an angle of the incoming attack to redirect it.
It can also be used for attacks from a simple stone spike to move mountains.
Some more resourceful people could also use it for transportation by using jutsu like moving earth core and and directing it with chakra
It is strong against water as it can absorb or deflect it with ease.
It is weak against lighting as lighting can pierce it and earth generally acts as a conductor.

The only thing I will add is that there are also techniques that allow you to channel your earth chakra into the air to form the earth or to bring it out of portals.

This is Chakra Paper. It reacts to the 5 elements. When Earth chakra is applied, the leaf should turn brown and then crumble. I want you to meditate on your Earth chakra while holding the leaf in you hand to crumble the leaf like so.
*demontrates*
Leaf in the palm of your left hand. Your right hand is then on top of you left and over the leaf, preventing the leaf from escaping while you charge chakra into it.

Try to be as detailed/descriptive as possible. All you have to do is copy the PHP code. I know you are decently familiar with coding having RPed on other sites before this one, so I won't bother explaining, but if you don't know how to use a specific one just ask.
Also, I will post how all of the techniques work. I want you then, in your own words, to describe to me what you are doing to get the desired result.
As this technique has multiple purposes, there are different ways to go about this. These will be our first few posts to get you used to replying.
Ok. So one of the first functions of Earth Style Technique is making simple small weapons.
1st. *Tosses you a kunai*
I want you to look at this kunai, examine it thoroughly and try to use your earth chakra and shape manipulation to form an exact copy of it.
2nd. This is not the only weapon that you can form from this technique. You can also make staffs, small fans, and other objects. (You do not have to do this, it pretty much the same as forming an earth kunai except you shape manipulate it into that object.
3rd. The way this technique is used most would most certainly be by making a pillar. I want you to channel your chakra into the ground and try to force a small pillar to rise out of it. It is up to you whether you want the pillar to push you straight upwards, forwards, backwards, or even sideways.

I then precede to start working with the same Chakra I used to crumble the paper and place a hand on the ground, as I do this I notice the land below me starts to respond, so I continue to follow the instructions my senpai gave me and try to mold it into a kunai after 3 attempts I finally get it right. I then continue on eventually making a staff and later a few pillars of earth and even attempted riding one. After about an hour I walk back to hazama senpai.

I would think to use a wind technique to blow up some dust to blind the enemy then use this jutsu to make a make about twenty to thirty kunai using this technique and throw them at the enemy

A bit easier this time I start focusing on my earth chakra and start spreading it to every part of my body. Eventually when I think its good enough to start, I focus on "digging" downward and positioning my self below the clone. I then push my hands up and out of the ground and with all my might pull the clone down while pouring earth chakra into the ground around the clone and I to make it easier. I then focus on pushing my self up and out of the ground behind your clone ending the technique.

Ways to counter:
lighting techniques like nagashi or use of detection techniques and certain eye technique users. and sensors will never really lose track of you.

- - allows for hiding under ground till trap is sprung meaning the opponent doesn't know where you are -
- - leaves the opponent immobilized if he/she doesn't know an appropriate counter -

- - must be under the opponent to be really useful -
- - limited practical use without a technique for disappearing from view first -
- - physical contact should the opponent be a master of lighting of A rank or above they could use nagashi to easily turn the table -

You will then channel your earth chakra through it and using shape manipulation you will turn the rock into a staff to be used in close combat or to throw at your opponent. *I kneel down to put a hand on the ground and pull a chunk of rock out and and using earth chakra begins to form a staff. Then after a few minutes I then turn to look at a tree and then using the same process of making the staff I then repeat it several times and using earth chakra to push them out at a decent speed send a volley at the tree.
Strong points
the best time i could see to use this would be to counter an incoming attack by first using change of body stance to get in behind my opponent at short range and then unleash a decent number of staffs at the opponent.
Ways to counter:

Now I'd like you to come up with a battle combination to use against my clone. Pretend this was a real battle expect against my clone. I'd like you to use any of the earth techniques you've learned up until now, and you if you'd like you can also include other elements you've learned so far.

I start by creating a few pillars under your clone to throw it off balance. Just after this I start running in at angle to close range at the right of the clone. Upon reaching close range I immediately sink into the ground and "dig" my way under the clone and once under the clone I pull him down up to his neck. I then rise up and throw a kunai at your clones head.

Try to stay more detailed with your bullets and strategies. If you write it out in complete sentences you will find that you get more detailed with everything.
Though I know that with these lower ranks it is hard to see combinations when this is the first elemental training that you have. ^_^

I will try to be more detailed but as you said its rather hard.

*I immediately after this turn to the hazama clone I had trapped earlier and remove the previous technique to get a clear view of my target. I then set out by kneeling down while preforming the rat seal and then putting one hand on the ground I pull up 6 slabs that all together form 2 half dome rock segments and trap your clone and then collapse them poofing him back to you.

i would use this technique in combination with a fire technique. I would use this technique to keep the enemy from moving any of the normal four directions and try and bait the opponent to jump immediately after finishing that technique i would then send a fireball aimed at the top of the coffin of rock to try and catch the opponent as he jumps.
Ways to counter:
I would counter this technique by simply jumping out or digging down and out. you could also just use a B ranked fire ball to bust open a wall and run out.

- - I guess rank would have to be the third bad point to this technique because its a C rank there are still 4 ranks above it that can out do it with ease-
