As the mud is created, I casually walk inside of it and sit on a meditative state as I feel the earth encasing my body as I try and relax and be one with the earth.
- Earth is one of the most versatile elements known to the shionbi race. It is commonly used by channeling one's chakra into the earth and manipulating earth sources to ones will. The most common use for earth style is to rise/lower the ground and create barriers or protective structures. Some shinobi even go as far as to spew out of their mouths rock solid structures like clones or golems as seen with Oniki. Some even utilize their own chakra inside of their bodies and convert it into a mud substance that they release from their mouth. Others channel their chakra into the ground and change the common to make mud sources like the infamous swamp of the underworld.
- I think I answered this above, however if you would like me to add something else, I will do so. ^_^
- Earth's major weakness is lightning, due to the fact that the blunt force and heat of the lightning techniques will cause the earth to crumble not mere dust. Earth is very strong against the water element because the solid earth will always overcome the liquid compound of water, be it by redirecting it elsewhere or simply slamming an earth technique into water and causing the water to scatter everywhere.

The only thing I will add is that there are also techniques that allow you to channel your earth chakra into the air to form the earth or to bring it out of portals.
*Hands you a white leaf*
This is Chakra Paper. It reacts to the 5 elements. When Earth chakra is applied, the leaf should turn brown and then crumble. I want you to meditate on your Earth chakra while holding the leaf in you hand to crumble the leaf like so.

Leaf in the palm of your left hand. Your right hand is then on top of you left and over the leaf, preventing the leaf from escaping while you charge chakra into it.
The only thing I will add is that there are also techniques that allow you to channel your earth chakra into the air to form the earth or to bring it out of portals.

*As Hazama sempai hands me the leaf, I place it in between my hands and cup them together so that the leaf does not escape my grasp. I then start focusing chakra throughout my body and channel into my hands so that it is absorbed by the chakra reactive paper. As I'm channeling the chakra I think back on what I felt like meditating in the mud and try to mimic that sensation as then the leaf turns slightly brown and...*

Now for your very first Earth Technique. This is perhaps the most used D Ranked Technique on this forum.
Try to be as detailed/descriptive as possible. All you have to do is copy the PHP code. I know you are decently familiar with coding having RPed on other sites before this one, so I won't bother explaining, but if you don't know how to use a specific one just ask.
Also, I will post how all of the techniques work. I want you then, in your own words, to describe to me what you are doing to get the desired result.
As this technique has multiple purposes, there are different ways to go about this. These will be our first few posts to get you used to replying.
Ok. So one of the first functions of Earth Style Technique is making simple small weapons.
1st. *Tosses you a kunai*
I want you to look at this kunai, examine it thoroughly and try to use your earth chakra and shape manipulation to form an exact copy of it.
2nd. This is not the only weapon that you can form from this technique. You can also make staffs, small fans, and other objects. (You do not have to do this, it pretty much the same as forming an earth kunai except you shape manipulate it into that object.
3rd. The way this technique is used most would most certainly be by making a pillar. I want you to channel your chakra into the ground and try to force a small pillar to rise out of it. It is up to you whether you want the pillar to push you straight upwards, forwards, backwards, or even sideways.
After taking a look at it, I see that the leaf has turned a shade of brown and is crumbling at my touch.

- A VERY versatile technique
- It works for both attack, or defense.
- One of the most useful low ranked techniques as you have mentioned yourself.
- Its restricted to only small objects.
- Obviously the rank and thus it can be countered by mostly anything.

I'd use this technique to either, rise pillars from my feet and propel myself elsewhere depending on the size of the jutsu coming my way. I could also utilize this technique to propel both me and my comrades or even enemies by rising multiple pillars. Aside from that I can also use the pillars to harm my opponents by raising them below them at an angle. As for the kunai and staff I'd use it for close combat usage or medium range if I used the kunai.
Ways to counter: Well it all depends on how my opponent uses it against me. If he uses a pillar to attack me, I would release a certain lightning technique to crumble the earth away. If he releases an earth projectile I would release a lightning projectile or release a powerful gust of wind to blow it away. If he uses the pillar to propel himself elsewhere, I would utilize any assault-type technique that would meet wherever he/she may land.
*I quickly start out by focusing my earth chakra into the ground. I then focus on the ground itself as a source and manipulate it to mimic the shape of the kunai I recently obtained from Hazama sempai. In a matter of seconds the kunai rises from the ground as a complete replica. After doing so, I throw the kunai towards you, before the kunai reaches you, I focus my earth chakra into teh ground once again and cause a small pillar to rise right beneath your feet in a vertical angle, propelling yourself out of the kunai's path.

Next Jutsu
* Creates a clone that stands short range from you *
* I want you to focus earth chakra throughout your body. Focusing that same chakra into the ground, you will then "dig" your way under my clone by using the earth chakra to make a path in which you can travel. You will then stick your hands out of the ground and grab my clone's legs and pull him down underground leaving only his head above ground *
Now remember this technique is not used to simply travel from one place to the other, you have to pull down your target down into the ground. For underground travel there is another technique that you will be learning later on.
As the clone is made, I quickly focus earth chakra throughout my body while also focusing it into the ground beneath me. I then slip underground and dig my way underground and place my self underneath the clone's last known location. With ease, I then stick my hands out of the ground itself and grab the clone's ankles. Once that's done, I quickly pull him underground as I then slip out of the earth and kick its head.

- Not many strong points in this technique, all I can say is that it can immobilize the target underground.
- Low ranked underground travel, however only a short distance and you need to drag the opponent down.

Actually, Like I said earlier, this isnt the technique that is used for traveling underground. So the only reason this technique is short ranged is because you wont use it until you are directly underneath your opponent.As the clone is made, I quickly focus earth chakra throughout my body while also focusing it into the ground beneath me. I then slip underground and dig my way underground and place my self underneath the clone's last known location. With ease, I then stick my hands out of the ground itself and grab the clone's ankles. Combinations-strategies I'd use the hidden like a mole technique and travel from medium or long distance towards my target then pull him underground the decapitate him.
- Short distance travel unless you use it in combination with another technique in combo with it.

I want you to grab a chunk of rock from the ground. You will then channel your earth chakra through it and using shape manipulation you will turn the rock into a staff to be used in close combat or to throw at your opponent. You could also create several staffs to launch them towards your target, however the accuracy will lower.
Strong points
- It can create multiple staffs not just one.
- This technique can be used both for close combat or medium range distance to throw at your opponent/target.
- N/A
- Pretty simple and not much versatility to it unless you take into account what you actually do with the staff in terms of close combat.
- Accuracy is lowered if used with multiple ones
- Pretty generic technique, I like the doton no jutsu more.
Ways to counter: I would either use the same technique to simply create a staff and combat against it, or knock out of the way. I could release a lightning projectile attack and turn the staff into dust or I could use earth style technique to propel myself away from the staff's trajectory path.
*Utilizing what I learned in the doton no jutsu lesson, I pick up a chunk of earth and flow my chakra through it as I then use shape manipulation and imagine the image of a staff as I shape and exact replica of one. Once that's done, I hold it in my hand tightly and release it towards that tree over there.*

Now I'd like you to come up with a battle combination to use against my clone. Pretend this was a real battle expect against my clone. I'd like you to use any of the earth techniques you've learned up until now, and you if you'd like you can also include other elements you've learned so far.

When the clone is created, I crouch down and pick up a chunk of earth, I then shape that chunk into a single pointy edged staff. I then proceed to reach into my pouch as I place an explosive tag on the middle section of the staff.

Once that's done, I raise two pillars or earth from the ground. One will be rising beneath my own feet, launching myself towards the clone, while the other one rises behind the clone's back, smashing against him, completely catching him by surprise. As I am then launched airborne, I release the staff towards the busy clone's mid-section. As the staff nears the clone's short range distance, I wave a hand sign and cause the staff to detonate and explode, sending earth shrapnel everywhere. Due tot he fact that I am airborne I would be safe from my own assault.

After performing the showed, snake hand seal, I channel my chakra into the ground right beneath the newly made clone. I then cause two medium sized sections of earth to rise from each side of the clone as they sandwich him in place to bind him.

After performing the Rat hand seal, I want you to focus your earth and channel it into the ground. You will then manipulate the earth beneath your opponent and rise up two gigantic sections of rock that crush your opponent.

Ways to counter: Well in most cases, the best option is to release lightning from my body to destroy the sections. I could also use hidden in rock technique to simply slip by the binding and perform my technique. Considering the rocks come around me and not beneath me, I could rise a pillar of earth to propel me upwards and away from the technique's grasp.
*I start out by focusing my earth chakra into the ground. I then release it outwards towards that small tree over there. I cause multiple sections of rock to emerge around the tree as it starts to surround it. I then cause to gigantic sections of earth to crush the tree in between.*

Good. Next in line for you today is
I want you to focus your earth chakra around your body and into the ground. Using the earth chakra in the ground, you will change the compounds of it into fine sand, allowing you to dig through it. While underground you will be able to sense anything that is happening above ground as long as its keeping contact with the ground. So if the opponent is touching the ground you will be able to sense his location.
Strong points
- Good technique to change locations without being noticed
- Good way to throw the opponent off guard if I have something blocking his view and I go elsewhere.
- Very good sneak attack.
- No hand seals required.
- Not that versatile, simple traveling underground.
- Leaves you rather vulnerable for attack as you your ways to defend are reduced.
Ways to counter: Well for starters I could make a swamp in a decent radius around the last known location of the opponent, that would most likely catch him deep underground in a swamp of mud and immobilize him.
*I quickly focus my earth chakra throughout my body and then into the ground beneath me as I try and turn the compounds of the earth into fine-sand. Once that's done, I start sinking into the ground and go below it. By utilizing earth chakra while underground I am able to pin-point my sempai's location and thus appear right in front of him afterwards. *
