Alright, Lili's series of questions gives me a good general direction of where to take you. You're going to be my first experiment with a new training component. That being said, we'll start off with teh following.

Earth is in a sense life itself and the basic structure for life. Earth can be described as rocks, dirt, soil, and the very planet we walk on. So in reality earth is many things in itself. Earth release is when a user manipulates their inner energy and molds it into and fuses it with the earth. Thus making earth walls, spikes, valleys, etc.

Earth can act in a few ways also. It can seem to flow, like when an earthquake strikes, or it can be sturdy and rigid, like how it is naturally. Earth is a stolid and sturdy element. Almost being laconic and simple. Yet its simplicity can be so complex. It can let water flow through it or it can absorb water. It can fuse with fire to make lava or it can let the fire rest atop of it. It can let wind and lightning pass through it or stop it in its tracks. Earth can move and act in many ways. Lava can just melt the earth and wood can break through it. Earth is capable of being crystalized and isn't dense enough to stop it. The combination of water and lightning in storm can earth and earth shatters ice. In both dark release forms earth itself cannot be absorbed and can serve as a shield to block the release. Steel can overpower earth and boil can corrode it. Scorch cannot burn the earth and earth can squash the Aburame bugs. Earth itself is too dense for steam to be of use. Earth cannot contain the explosion of explosion release but can create an extra medium for sound to pass through thus proving to overcome sound. Earth can be used to create a shield from magnetism and proves to be ineffective against sand, as the sand can grind the earth. Both Earth and water have substance which make them weak to dust.

Earth can be fused with fire to make lava.

This was alright for the most part. What I want to point out, however, is that the utilization of Doton and earth release, isn't merely the channeling of chakra externally into the ground for manipulation. That is a common entity with this sort of release but as you'll see later, there are other means of earth release that don't come from just channeling your chakra into the ground. We'll get into that more late though.

Now, I like how you started mentioning how earth interacts with the elements. But I want you to do me another task. Tell me what you get when you combine earth with water, lightning, and wind. For this I don't want you do think about elements that occur because of these combination but rather, what you would gain from using both of those elements together.

Well earth and water makes wood or mud. Could you use the wood as fuel of sorts or like gasoline? As in trap the opponent in wood or mud and strike lightning on the wood burning it but the lightning mixed with the wind fuels it even more.

You're a lucky guy. Earth Release, though perhaps my worst element, has been completed mostly, in my Training guide. Instead of asking you to think a little more, I'm just going to give you some reading assignment and leave the door open for any questions.

Earth and Lightning

We’ll start with earth’s natural weakness, lightning. Earth is a natural conductor to lightning meaning that it’s naturally attractive to lightning. Lightning is ground, searches for the nearest conductor. What we’ve seen from lightning combatting earth is that current of the lightning neutralizes the earth chakra within a technique and can essentially break up the structure of the technique. This is most prevalent in Deidara’s fight with Sasuke. When used together, however, earth and lightning make a great combination. The properties of the earth are enhanced through the use of lightning; gaining speed, piercing power, electrical fortitude. This sort of combination isn’t used too much, water is the preferred element by many to use with lightning.

Earth and Water

Getting into water, water is the natural weakness of earth. The primary reason for this is that; water being a yielding element, and being a less dense liquid based element, earth can absorb the water and still maintain itself. Earth is solid, water based projectiles, waves, etc, would disperse against solid defensive structures. Almost in a similar fashion to how wind works against earth, however, wind can’t be absorbed nor is broken down by earth like water is. When used together, though, water and earth can create mud. Now, what use is there for mud? Mud can be used to cause a lose of balance or catch your opponent off guard. There are quite a few mud based earth techniques as well. Mud can also act as a way to suffocate people or get a faster and more flowing based technique. It can also prove useful for adhesive purposes.

Earth and Fire

Next we have Fire. Fire and earth are neutral elements and are generally equal when going against one another. Fire is strong enough or can be strong enough to combat against the solid entity or thwart it off for a time. However the true relationship comes into play when these elements are used together. Combining earth and fire gives us the lava element. The molten liquid, earth has been melted down and brought to extremely high temperatures. Earth and fire are more complimentary than adversary.

Earth and Wind

Lastly we have Wind. Now these two elements don’t really have much of a relationship with one another. Earth and wind are neutral, however, generally earth and wind don’t go up against each other much. Wind can slice through earth, push back projectiles of earth, etc. Earth can be resistant to large gusts, provide solid enough entities to disperse compact winds. When combine, there are some general benefits such as increasing the speed and power of earth based projectiles, increase slicing power through adding abrasive force of earth techniques to wind techniques, etc.

Additional Note: Water+Earth does not allow for one to create Wood. Wood is a very unique element. Though it is specified as the combination of the latter elements when you are combining the individuals in two separate techniques, you create mud (which is explained above). It is my theory that Wood Release consists of Earth and Water because of the fact that wood, trees, and roots are all part of the earth (thus the earth part) and when watered they sprout and grow or become stronger (thus the water part). Combining the two consistencies of the element do not create that element naturally. Where as with Lava and Ice you can with the two elements they consist of.

Lava (Fire+Earth) is a high heated liquid state. The earth acts as the solid while the fire superheats it to the point it liquefies and becomes like magama. That is capable of being created by combining solid earth based techniques and fire.

Ice (Wind+Water) is simply water in its solid form. You've heard of wind chills, the winds that occur naturally bring down the tempature of the atmosphere to some degrees. Water has a boiling/vaporization point and a freezing point. The wind blows and lowers the temperature of the water which brings it to its freezing point, which allows for somebody to create ice, if they use water and wind together. This combination is a little more tricky with canon based techniques because of the techniques that are available to use, however custom wise, I think you could create duel element techniques where you use one wind and one water technique to produce ice.

Alright not to begin U_U

The way I train is a little different than most sensei. I use Lili-Chwan and Scorp's method of training which divides the techniques of an element into four categories. Each category will have a specific number of techniques based on the similarities between the techniques, regardless of rank. I will then teach you the basic concepts of the method and test you on your knowledge and then we will continue alright?

Method 2: Environment Manipulation
Method 3: Advanced Conversion
Method 4: Others

These are the four methods in this element. From this point on here is what we're going to be doing.

(1) I will give you the method and explain to you, in depth, what the method entails and then allow for any questions of clarrification

(2) I will give you bullet points of words/phrases that I will ask you to define/explain that will show me if you understand this method if I am satisfied with your explanations, we will continue. If not I will have you tweak them.

(3) I will then post all the jutsu within the category with full explinations and then you will have to do the following
~Explain the Advantages of the Method
~Explain the Disadvantages of the Method
~Discuss Strategies you could use with jutsu from this method
If I'm satisfied with these three aspects, we will continue and repeat the cycle from the top.

Alright, tell me how you would perform the following


•Create a knife, sword, or general weapon:
•Shoot one/several bullets of mud from your mouth:
•Convert your skin into a steel like quality acting as armor

To create a general weapon you could hold some earth/mud in your hand and put your own chakra into it. Once your chakra is in the piece of earth/mud you use shape manipulation to manipulate the earth to the point where it is in the form of the weapon of your choice. (I hope that'll suffice.)

*I focus my earth chakra into my mouth. (I think that's how it happens) I then turn the chakra into mud itself. I expel the mud from my mouth ferociously as the mud flies forward.* (Again, I hope that'll suffice.)

*I channel all my earth chakra close to te surface of my skin. The chakra makes my skin tough, steel-quality, earth-like. This should protect from physical attacks and many projectiles.* (Again, you know.)

The general is alright. Just a few notes.

This method is involving self created earth. So in your first technique you're not going to use pre-existing earth to create the technique, you're going to manifest it yourself like you would with any of the techniques in this method.

Second, everything comes from the core. You'd channel your earth chakra from your core and have it travel up into your mouth. Your chakra becomes the properties as mud. You would use shape manipulation to make it the shape of a bullet and compact the entity so that it has a rather significant amount of force upon impact

The last technique is simply you excreting chakra from all the pours in your body to create the desired metallic like skin.
