I don't count kirin because it's a jutsu that he can't use in battle only under certain circumstances, and that take too much time to launch the attack. Maybe he will even die before casting this jutsu. And even when he realised it, he must go far away from the opponent. If not, he will be touch by his own jutsu. So since you're in close combat with Sasuke, he won't have time to launch it even if all the preparations of that is ok. And he can also use this jutsu only one time. Its so much an inconvenient jutsu if you ask me.

And finally, don't forget Itachi had time to cast Susanoo before being caught by the attack, so do Kakashi did against Susanoo arrows. So it's not sure he will die from kirin. He can simply kamui it.
