Thank you guys for the support, here is the start of the chunin exams, 6 months after Orochimaru?s attack on the village. Hope you enjoy!

Keotsu was walking back from the store, finally getting some guitar strings and groceries, among other things, when Sakura approached him. ?Hey Sakura, what?s up?? asked Keotsu. ?I?m here to give you a message from Lady Hokage. Rena, you, and I, are apparently nominated and are going to participate in the Chunin exams.? she said. ?Really? That?s great! But is their anything I should know?? he asked.

?Well, it changed this time around, because of?complications with the last one, so just be ready for anything, really.? she replied. ?Thank you very much, Sakura. Should I tell Rena?? he asked. ?No, I?ll tell her; we actually became pretty good friends during the time you where training. Why don?t you just prepare, and meet some of the new contestants. You might want to talk to Shikamaru. He was the only one who passed last time.? ?Alright, thank you. When is the exam?? asked Keotsu. ?In one week.? she replied.

Keotsu walked up the stairs to the roof of the building and saw Shikamaru looking at the clouds. ?Who is it, oh, Keotsu.? said Shikamaru standing up. Keotsu saw the chess board and said, ?Lets talk over chess.? As they began, the Keotsu began to ask Shikamaru about the Chunin exams, ?So, how does it work?? asked Keotsu. ?Well, this year,? said Shikamaru taking Keotsu?s knight, ?they are using a point system. Certain events are worth from one to one hundred points, and you need 3,600 points to reach the Chunin exams. You can gain up to 1,000 points from one event.? ?How? Didn?t you just say that you could only get up to one hundred?? asked Keotsu, taking Shikamaru?s bishop.

?True. Events are worth up to one hundred points by themselves, but speed, objectives, enemies, and restrictions can affect the score.? Shikamaru explained. ?That makes sense. Stalemate?again..? said Keotsu. ?Dang?your better than Asuma.? ?Really? Asuma seems pretty smart.? said Keotsu. ?He is. He just sucks at chess.? said Shikamaru.

Keotsu was looking at Mikomi, the stars reflecting in it?s clear-sapphire blade. He prepared all his equipment for tomorrow, for it was the day before the day of the exam, and Sakura said he should probably try to meet the other applicants. But what the Guru said was dancing in his head, ?Six months, and that was a month ago?? said Keotsu, as he rolled over and fell asleep.

Keotsu was walking down the street as he heard some barking and hissing. He ran around the corner to see Akamaru, who was now about the size of a full grown Labrador, barking at what looked like a leopard. Keotsu ran over and asked, ?Kiba, what the heck is going on? And is that leopard?!? ?Yeah, and I have no clue. Akamaru saw this thing and just bolted!? ?Presa, stop!? yelled a boy who had just appeared, at the leopard. ?This thing yours?? asked Kiba. ?Nice to meet you, but could you please call of the cat, leopard, puma, thing?? asked Keotsu, trying to figure out what was going on.

?Oh, sorry. My name is Kevin Winston. Just call me Kiwii!? he said. ?Kiwii?? asked Keotsu. ?Yep!? said Kiwii. ?Okay?..? said Keotsu and Kiba in unison. ?Umm, could you call off your mutt? I don?t think Presa will calm down until it stops barking.? said Kiwii. ?MUTT?! He?s not a mutt, and his name is Akamaru, AKAMARU!? yelled Kiba. ?Hey, guys?? said Keotsu. ?So, he?s still being annoying.? said Kiwii. ?ANNOYING!? Look who?s talking! Your stupid cat is the one who provoked Akamaru!? yelled Kiba. ?Guys?.? said Keotsu to the two people, oblivious that Presa and Akamaru had stopped and where now watching their masters argue. ?This could take a while?? said Keotsu, who started to pet Akamaru and Presa.

It had taken a while, but Keotsu had finally managed to get Kiba and Kiwii to stop argueing, and now he was headed towards the exam stadium with Kiwii, who Keotsu had discovered was from the Grass Village.
?So, you came here to test yourself?? asked Keotsu. ?Yeah, I wanted to see how strong me and Presa are compared to other shinobi. Its no fun when you?re the strongest person in your town??said Kiwii. Keotsu showed Kiwii the registration. ?Well, I guess I?ll see you tomorrow?? asked Keotsu. ?Yeah, sure!? said Kiwii.

Keotsu was walking home when he bumped into a man around his age with red hair, and a sand head band. ?Sorry sir. You wouldn?t happen to be entered in the Chunin exams, would you?? ?Yes, I am?.And I?m showing this shinobi the way as well?.? said the man, moving slightly to the left, revealing another man, a little older than Keotsu. ?I?m Mingus. This is Gaara-senpai.? said the person.

Keotsu had shown the Sand shinobi where the exam stadium was, and thought it was strange that they talked very little. The only one that really spoke was Mingus. ?So, this is the leaf village?? he asked. ?Yeah, pretty amazing huh? I?ve only been here about six and a half months myself.? said Keotsu. ?Really? You seem to know your way around really well.? Mingus said. ?Well, its probably like how you are with the Sand.? Just then, one of the kunai got away from one of the Academy students, and Mingus stopped it dead with a white spike coming from his hand. ?Is?is that bone?? asked Keotsu. ?Yes, it is my Kekkai Genkai.? said Mingus. ?Suddenly? thought Keotsu, ?this exam just got interesting between this Mingus guy and that Kiwii character.?

It was the next morning, and Keotsu stood at the entrace of the exam stadium. He could here the hubbub of the other shinobi inside. He let his hand stray to Mikomi, and looked at Rena and his fellow Leaf comrades, entering the exam as well. He walked in, with two new shinobi that he looked forward to fighting and seeing their skills, and with a new challenge ahead.
