Chapter 1-When it all went wrong, and a new beginning.
Innkeeper: Did you sleep well?
Keotsu: Yes ma'am. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Innkeeper: No not at all. Come back any time!
Keotsu opened the door.
Keotsu: Alright. Good bye.
As he started down the road he began to think. It was now five years to the day since he had left the village. The events played over like a slideshow in his mind.
It all began on his eighth birthday.
Keotsu awoke before his alarm went off. He hadn't been able to sleep much anyway;to day was the day of the graduation from the ninja academy.
The village of Twilight was a small place that hardly any one knew about, and if they did it was because of their remarkable glass work.
That's not to say that they didn't have powerful shinobi. They were in fact very skilled, but they didn't have to fight very often.
Keotsu pulled on his jacket and ran out the door.
Keotsu: Bye mom! I'm heading for school!
Keotsu's mother: Alright. Me and your father will stop by when the ceremony starts.
Keotsu: Okay.
As he began the walk to school he was greeted by everyone he met along the way.
Old man: Hi there, Keotsu. Hows it going?
Keotsu: (laughs) Fine, how are your animals coming along?
Old man: Great, other than the fact that Jonny got lose again, that pesky goat.
Keotsu: (laughs) Alright, I'll see you later. I'm going to go get Rena and Diango before I head to school. I imagine they are still asleep.
Old man: Okay Keotsu. Good bye.
Keotsu knew every one in the village. He was naturally friendly and that helped a lot, but people were nice to him for another reason as well. He was a Twilight Child; some one born on the Twilight Warrior's birthday (Samuel).
Even after the battle, even though the Solainos and Lunians started to live together again in harmony, they still remained somewhat segregated. Most families in the village were either Sol or Lun dominant in their ancestry; Keotsu family was split right down the middle, and on top of that there was a strong chance that his family was related to the Twilight Warrior. All Twilight Children had had a natural gift for Twilight chakra, more so than someone who wasn't. It was said that Keotsu would have extraordinary powers.
Knock,Knock,Knock.
Keotsu: Hey, Diango!! Wake up already.
A groggy looking black haired boy approached the door.
Keotsu: Oh... Sorry James. Could you get your little brother for me?
James: Diango...? He already left....
Keotsu: Oh...Sorry to wake you.
James: Nah, I needed to get up anyways. If your looking for Diango I imagine he's probably already at the school.
Keotsu: Okay, thanks.
He decided he go see if Rena was home.
Knock,knock,knock
Keotsu: Hey Rena! You up!?
A girl with short brown hair, a shade lighter than Keotsu's, with a butterfly clip in her hair and soft green eyes stepped out of the house.
Keotsu: Ready to go Rena?
Rena: Yeah. ??? Hey, where's Diango? You're never here with out him in the mornings.
Keotsu: Apparently, he's already at school. You know that can't be good.
They both laughed
Rena: Come on, lets get going.
When they arrived at the school they saw a boy with bright red spiked hair.
Keotsu: Diango. What did you do now?
Diango: (faking a hurt expression) What? I can't get here early and do my homework?
Both Rena and Keotsu glared at him while laughing.
Diango: Okay, you caught me. I volunteered to help with the decorations.
Rena: Now that sounds about right.
Diango:......Bye.
Keotsu:... That's right... you're moving out of the village today aren't you? To the Sand village right?
Diango: Yeah, but I'll keep in touch I promise!
Rena: You two make quite a pair don't you know? We'll miss you Diango.
She was right. They were complete oppisites. Diango had bright red spiked hair and dark brown eyes. Keotsu had a medium shade brown hair, which he kept down and Light blue eyes.
Diango:.. Well I had better get going. Mom and Dad are waiting at the village gate.
Keotsu: Did you get your head band?
Rena: Yeah I want to see it.
Diango showed them his left forearm. The head band was a sun with the left side darkened like a crescent moon.
Keotsu: Cool.
Rean: Awesome.
Diango started to walk away.
Diango: Bye. I promise I'll write!!
Keotsu and Rena: Bye! I'm gonna hold you to that!!!
Later during the ceremony...
Principal: Rena and Keotsu...Class 7A graduate with Highest honors.
Rena tied her headband around her neck while Keotsu proudly sported his on his head.
Rena: Bye Keotsu. I'll come by later, but I promised I'd help around the house today.
Keotsu: That's fine. I'm just gonna walk around the village.
Rena: Bye!
She ran off down the street.
3 hours later....
Keotsu was on his favorite cliff overlooking the village playing tunes on his glass ocarina that his father had given him as a birthday present.
Suddenly, a large explosion went off in the town square. Keotsu felt the shock wave even from where he was.
Keotsu: What the heck!?!
The run from the cliff took about five minutes. By then several more explosions had gone off. Keotsu knew what this was. They were under attack by HIM.
A large platoon of shinobi dressed in black from head to toe come over the blood red horizon. Above them was what looked like a three headed dragon, if you could call it that. It had glowing red eyes, six webbed wings. four large clawed arms and a large pair of talons on his back legs. It was HIM. The known only as The Guru.
Keotsu was passed by almost every shinobi in the village, running towards the eastern gate.
He ran as fast as he could to his house.
Keotsu: No.....
His house was up in flames, hit by the chain of explosions. Only one thought raced through his mind now: I MUST save Rena.
He ran to Rena's house and when he saw the rubble he fell to his knees.
Keotsu: No...
Then he saw something glint out of the corner of his eye. He cleared away the rubble and found Rena. Unconscious but alive. He lifted her carefully and put her on his back. Just then he passed the mayor who was carrying a large scroll.
Mayor: Keotsu! Your alive!
Keotsu: Not for long at this rate. (Dodging a piece of shrapnel)
Mayor: Keotsu take this scroll. Yes, I know it has all our secret jutsu in it. Thats why I want you to take it. No don't argue, just take it.
Keotsu tied it around him so the scroll sat on his lower back. He used it to help keep Rena upright.
Mayor: Go to the waterfall. Its the only way you'll escape.
And with that the mayor ran to join the battle. Keotsu ran as fast as he could towards the northern half of the village; towards the waterfall. He could feel a dark presence looming over him. He dared a look back. He saw The Guru.
Guru: Run boy, run! I'll have your powers and that scroll.
Keotsu gasped. Why was he after him? Keotsu slowly backed up and stopped when he heard rocks fall from under his feet; he was on the edge of the cliff. He was to scared to speak.
Guru:Make it easy on your self and just give up.
Keotsu could smell blood on the beasts breath.
Keotsu:N-no...
Guru: What was that?
Keotsu: No!
Guru:So be it.
The Guru leaned back his head and shot out black flames. At that moment, a strange multi-colored sphere of gold,purple and silver enveloped him. A strange seal formed in front of Keotsu's hand and he trust it on the ground.
A large octagonal shape formed. A large blast fell from the sky and stuck The Guru.
Keotsu jumped off the cliff.
The sphere slowed his decent he could feel it. He could also here The Guru scream with defeat. That put a smile on Keotsu's face. He focused as hard as he could and commanded the sphere to guard Rena and the scroll more than him.
Splash!
The last thing Keotsu remembered was waking up on a beach with the scroll next to him and that Rena was gone.
(out of the flashback)
Keotsu: And then I had spent a year learning and memorizing most of the jutsus in the scroll. Then I hid and sealed the scroll in a cave up in the mountains. Now, I have three goals:
1.Find Rena. I don't beleive she's dead.
2.Find Diango.
3.Kill The Guru.
I realize now that the jutsu I used was a Desolation. On top of that, I know a bunch of the Ancient Jutsu and I have my families' Kekka Genki: Blood Creation. Also,...Rena, Diago and I may very well be the only survivors of the village.
Then Keotsu had run into a boy who had just rounded the corner.
???(boy): Ow...
Keotsu: I'm so sorry. ( He extended a hand.)
The boy who had spikey blond hair and blue eyes took the offer.
???boy: Thanks. Hey Pervy Sage! Hurry up.
?Pervy Sage???: Hold your horses Naruto.
Naruto?: Sorry about that.
Keotsu: No problem.
Pervy Sage??: That head band...
Keotsu: Hmm??
Pervy Sage: Nothing. Hey are you traveling to Konaha?
Keotsu: Yeah.
Pervy Sage??: Here. ( He gave Keotsu a slip of paper that he wrote a note on.)
Give this to the Hokage when you get there. She'll pay you for your trouble.
Keotsu: No problem, sure.
Naruto?: Come on!
Pervy Sage??: Okay, okay. Hey.
Keotsu: Yeah?
Pervy Sage??: Remember, the Hokage.
Koetsu: Right.
And with that the old man and the boy left Keotsu and Keotsu headed off towards Konoha.
