Alright so just to start this off this is not a gay bashing thread so don't do it.

I am pro gay. My dads gay, my aunt's gay and my girlfriend as a lot of gay friends. I believe that they are born that way and should not be treated any differently.

Now the guy from duck dynasty came out and said he thinks being gay is a sin. Since then hes been kicked off the show, received a lot of hate, and lost all of his endorsements. In my opinion that's complete BS. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and shouldnt be fired because of it. I think what he said was stupid but that doesn't mean his entire life.should be ruined. That's one thing that makes America great, we are able to have different opinions bit still co exist. Now that just seems to be.going out the door.

What's your guys opinion? Again don't start gay bashing.

He was spreading religious propaganda and they kicked him off their network. He has the right to practice is religion, and they have the right to fire him for any reason they see fit.

Ya that was dumb of him. Too bad the same thing hasn't happened to kanye west for comparing himself to cops and soldiers

ok heres what happen.

A#E temp suspended him from the show but he will re appear.

next they did not lose any endorsements.

also note this whole controversy actually turned out good for phil and his family :) and well A#E to.

last but not least, i agree with phil on homosexuality that it is a sin and immoral but non less he still dont treat them different just like i dont and many other people.

and homosexuality is not genetic there is no "gay gene" stating that i dont believe that they choose to be that way i just believe its just what happens in life.

And many people claim hes a racist cause he stated that back then when he was young that blacks were not suffering or sad in his own view. but thats neither racist nor is he wrong. people just think cause he seen it from that perspective that he did not see people getting lynched and stuff that hes ignorant.

anyways to sum it all up if people are still calling phil from duck dynasty a homophobe and a racist take a good look at yourself before you judge a man based on his beliefs.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure of the whole story. I just think it's bull that he's getting so much hate. Im against what he said but I stil believe he has every right to believe what he wants. Even tho yours and my opinions differ on the gays I respect that you treat everyone the same

I think he shouldn't have been suspended for what he said. In the interview he spoke out his own opinion and he shouldn't be suspended from the show for expressing his own opinion and for quoting a Bible verse. I am a Christian and I agree with what he said. It seems like if you aren't a Christian and you want to say that homosexuality is wrong nobody or the media says anything. Immediately when a Christian states that homosexuality is wrong or a sin from the Bible that's when they start hating on that person who quoted scripture from the Bible about how homosexuality is wrong. They aren't hating on the person who actually wrote what was in the Bible. All Phil did was restate what was in the Bible about how homosexuals won't inherit the kingdom of God. So really they are actually hating on God who actually wrote the Bible and thus we come to the conclusion that man hates God when pointing out the truth. And this is only the beginning of persecution of Christians in America folks because this is a prime example of it.

I believe that this country was founded on the principles of free speech and if someone cant speak their minds then we have failed as a country. How do you think the gay movement started huh? . . . . That's right, through their unalienable right of free speech . A&E should be sued for what they did

I see both sides of the argument. He was just answering a question with his own beliefs. He seems to be a good guy who found religion and he just believe being gay is a sin. He doesn't hate them, he just think it's a sin. On the flip side, that's bad PR for A&E. We live in an age where being gay is quickly becoming normal. We're in an uprising. A&E or whoever made the call probably did act quick without thinking, but it does make sense as it may seem like bad PR especially since all the craziness the media did within hours. Anyways, I support gay marriage, but I see his belief. I believe it was blown out of proportion and it sucks for him. Gotta be wary these days as being gay is way more accepting than it ever has been. Eventually, I believe it'll be taboo to say "I disagree with gay marriage" or whatever similar to how it's not horrible to judge someone via their skin color. That's a topic for another day though. I hope it all clears up as time goes.
