Okay first off I am here in California. I love the Japanese version of this anime as well as the voice cast that they have gone with to portray all of the characters. Moreover, why is it that the Dubbed version really is soooooo crappy with their voices especially NARUTO.

I know there will be people that enjoy this actors voice but when compared to the Japanese cast it just seems that the Americans have EPICALLY failed.

Now I know that there is some debate or rather complaint in having to read while watching extremely cool fighting scenes and you may actually miss some of the words. But isn't there a reason why we watch them on a player to allows us to basically rewind to catch all that we missed. I for one enjoy reading the subtitles because you find the fans of the show tweaking the dialog in a manner that I for one imagine the actual characters saying versus such clean cut and sorry to say scripted words.

What are your thoughts?

I actually wrote a very interesting article on helium about this very subject. See the reason why the dubbed version is worse is because here in America, cartoons and anime are viewed as things for children. Where as in japan, naruto is for teens and adults. So they are made and voiced as such. However, here they are dubbed for children

I can understand that point, because really I feel as if I am losing brain cells watching the American version while the Japanese version can illicit such an emotional response. This can occur even when viewing the same episodes.

you think thats bad? try dragonball z kai on nicktoons tonight....
absolutely terrible. I began my anime watching days with Dragonball and Dragonball Z on saturday mornings. Now that they have re-released them with the new cast, I am so glad that I watched the show all those years ago. I even managed to download every episode prior to these re-released ones.

I watched only one dubb episode which i found boring. I love to watch subtitle, because there some advantages like we can learn the Japanese language. In fact I already know some the words. Plus it is really very entertaining, the way how they talk in Japanese Language. We can always rewind and watch!!! So I would go with subtitle

Absolutely right ... the dubbed version outside japan sometimes goes off the mark with timings n stuff too ... and the toning down of language + bad pronunciations makes it hell :( ...

And again some of the jokes when heard in Japanese is far more funnier than in english dub ... they loose their meaning or are way off than where they should be @_@

Well For Some Animes I prefer English Dubbing, Other than those I Love Japanese Voice.

Because when Japanese Voice is Original For the Subject, You like it mostly.

For English Dubbing from Japanese Anime, I prefer These.

Digimon Series
Dragon Ball/Z/GT
Guyver
Street Fighter

Naruto/Shippuuden Sounds Better in Japanese Because of the Voice Actors.

Example, Naruto's Japanese Voice Casting Sounds like a Male which Fits for Naruto's Gender.

In English Dubbed Series, Naruto Sounds Like a Kid and Girl at the Same time.

So that's the thing.

Always go with the original. Watching Naruto with dubbed english voices is something...too horrible. It's censored and made for children. And they sound too much alike and over acted. When you watch the subbed version with Japanese sounds...it's what the makes originally designed and wanted. It's just right.

Well my opinion regarding the comparison between Sub and Dub is that Dub only ruins the whole thing and it's not just naruto it's about every single dub... You can't dub while not being Japanese cuz they know how they made it and they gave the right feeling to it so i guess i'm againts dub series.
