I don't think the Hayflick Limit applies to Kimi's regenerative capabilities; I don't think Kishi went that deep into the science. What disease would be capable of killing Kimimaro if he was able to reform damaged cells?
Kimimaro is finesse. He takes pride in his gallant style. And Edo Kimi didn't lose to a KCM Clone. Not sure how, but he didn't.
Ah, it sounds plausible.I have no doubt Kishimoto hadn't gone that deep into Kimimaro's development nor back-story (damn him). The disease in which killed Kimimaro from my own assumptions would be his very own Kekkei Genkai: Shikotsumyaku or otherwise known as Dead Bone Pulse. See what I believe is that the "Dead Bone" part of the name is what concludes that Kimimaro had deteriorated bone cells within his body, and every time he used Shikotsumyaku the deterioration would get worse, and worse each use. The name for the disease would be: Leukemia.
Leukemia produces an abnormal amount of white blood cells (white blood cells defend against infectious diseases) however, the white blood cells formed by Leukemia don't die, and the abnormal production of them pile-up, and make it hard for the white blood cells, as well red blood cells to do their job (fight against disease etc.). So I believe he died from Leukemia or another Bone-related disease.
I stopped watching naruto first season how did he die?

Ah, it sounds plausible.
lol, what's with the sudden Q&A for a character who hasn't appeared in the manga for a long time?
Looking back, how did you see Kimmi's exit in the manga? A lot of people were a bit annoyed or like meh, wtf. His exit was somewhat formidable, yet way too "weird". He kind of came out of nowhere with an impressive ability, that everyone liked. I know this is a very old discussion, but perhaps some new thoughts could come to mind after putting it away for a while.
IMO Kimmi is one of those characters that had waay too little screen time compared to his actual influence on some really interesting parts of the story (not related to Konoha, not related to Uchiha, which is quite rare, lol). Even when he was revived, he did not get that time. I would much rather have seen more of him, perhaps he should really have met Suigetsu and Juugo on their way to Sasuke?

If Kimimaro had never died of his sickness, where would you have seen his abilities evolve? Steel bones?
Where would you rank Kimimaro's "skill" in taijutsu? (Not who beats who)
Rate among these ninja showcased taijutsu:
Gai
Hiashi
Lee
Neji
Tsunade
Madara
Itachi
Asuma
Sakura
Hinata
Raikage A
Great question. I assume this includes his Kekkei Genkai as well? I'll eliminate the characters who stand no chance within this list:
Gai
Hiashi
Lee
Neji
Tsunade
Madara
Itachi
Asuma
Sakura
Hinata
Raikage A
Now among the ones that are left, I'd rank Kimimaro as the following:
1. Gai/Yondaime Raikage
2. Yondaime Raikage/Gai
3. Madara
4. Itachi/Kimimaro
5. Kimimaro/Itachi
I don't overrate/underrate Kimimaro's Taijutsu-based potential, but we haven't see enough of him to actually categorize him higher than Top 4/5.
I really don't think Itachi is above Lee or Neji in skill at taijutsu, just my opinion.
Also Kimi is in my top 5 taijutsu users Based on skillset.
Itachi is more proficient within the category of Taijutsu in my opinion.
Between Hebi Sasuke, and Kimimaro.. Hm, without a doubt Kimimaro due to Sasuke not having any real technique that could affect Kimimaro physically.
Now MS Sasuke.. Hm, I'll lean toward Sasuke 7/10, but Kimimaro does have a way to bypass Susano'o. The only problem is Amaterasu.
Hebi sasuke is capable of winning vs kimimaru. By using sharigan genjutsu...a kill isn't the only way to win.
Also, we don't know how a jutsu like chidori would affect kimimaru, we don't know how the explosive force of it would damage kimimaru and since it is basically harnessed chakra focused into a single point I'm sure it could damage kimimaru not to mention other chidori variants like chidori stream. The fact remains kimimaru's bones kg doesn't make him immune to jutsu, it makes him less vulnerable to physical attacks but a chidori stream attacks internally as well and would affect kimimaru albeit I don't know if it would kill him but a repeated use would.
