What are yours like?

Have they changed as you've got older?

Is there one that stands out in your mind?

Mine used to be very coherent and lucid, but are more symbolic/hard to "decode" nowadays. My nightmares used to be quite psychedelic and psychological... I'll never forget having one where I was trapped in a Izanami-esque cycle of repeating the same moment over and over again - waking up and getting out of bed and realizing I was trapped in a doorless room, situated in a void of existence. I'd panic and then out of nowhere, I woke up again and so on... To make matters worse, I was fully aware that I was trapped in this glitch-born loop and fully aware that there was no escape, and therefore aware I was to be trapped like this for eternity. The psychedelic bit comes in with the fact that everything was one colour - the furniture, walls, carpet and even myself, with the colour changing upon each cycle. It was like someone looking through a window of coloured glass.

The nightmare came with a happy ending though; I got so angry that I lashed out (hitting and smashing things up); therefore changing the outcome and breaking the loop. The power of a strong will.

My dreams surely got a lot weirder the older I've become. Usually, my dreams are very abstract. Like, the location of the dream jumps quickly from one to another and things (like objects for example) change completely from one second to the next and everyone within this dream, including myself, doesn't really realize the changes.

I often dream that I'm in situations of great danger. When I try to run away, my legs are damn heavy and I can't build up speed. Sometimes I have a gun and need to defend myself from evil people but either I can't pull the trigger or the gun simply won't shoot even if I pull the trigger multiple times. I once had a dream where I jumped through timelines/dimensions and had to hide myself from bears, wolfs and lions while lying on top of my wardrobe inside my room. I also experienced "dreamceptions", dreams inside of dreams etc.

Sometimes I dream about my deceased father being still alive and healthy. Even though these dreams tend to be very cloudy, these kind of dreams are the best ones I ever had and have. Waking up afterwards always upsets me.

If you are interested, here is a pretty moderate dream that I had a few weeks ago. Not too spectacular.
There was one dream where I my sister and I were in a car (she was driving, but has no licence in real life, me neither btw.). She then "forgot" to follow the country road that was turning right and ended up on the grass surrounding the street. I told her to stop and took over the car myself and drove back into a city. A short time later, we ended up stuck in a street that was filled with people because of a festival. I decided to park the car in the next parking lot, before my sister and I got out of the car. In that moment, I met a former class-member of mine (which I saw in real life a few weeks before the dream happened) on the street and then we went back to the car together for some reason. We got in, but suddenly, it wasn't a car anymore, but rather a very angular house in some sort of Minecraft-style. The co-driver door wasn't an actual door but a weird window instead. So I decided to go to the Minecraft-workbench and crafted a real wooden door to fix the car-house-thing. It was really weird. But everyone behaved as if it was the most common thing ever. And then, I was by myself in that "car-house". My sister and my former class-mate were gone.

I rarely get dreams from now on I don't know why hahaha! But sometimes, if I overslept—I tend to dreamt about being an undercover agent LOL. Or sometimes when I woke up then went back to sleep again—I had dreams of ghosts! :nono::stone:

As the older I get the more awesome my dreams become.

Haven't had a nightmare in years tbh.

I don't think it was will that woke you up. You just probably (in your smashing) hurt yourself and the pain caused you to wake up. Xd

Never had a nightmare. Dreams are so rare I think most people just lie on the Internet.

I might be a minority here for saying this but I enjoy all dreams whether they are nightmares (excluding something like a family member dying) or happy ones. I like that thrill I get from it

Well I like dreams because it simply means I slept :sdo:, instead of those insomniac days
