If you were expecting rap, you're probably gonna be disappointed with the album. Definitely more R&B than rap. You can tell he tried to go back to his Take Care style as far as R&B goes. You can tell his last minute changes to "Controlla" and "Pop Style" too. Hotline Bling was a waste of space, but he probably added that because of "These Days" wasn't good.

Not really sure how I feel about it atm. "Grammys" is probably the only song I would bump in the car, the rest lowkey.(I like R&B though so maybe highkey)

And I agree with you on this. I really like this album because I like NWTS and Take Care Drake the most.
Controlla CDQ is fuego but he should've kept Kanye's verse on Pop Style tbh.

On first listen, I like it more than TLOP's first listen, and I now love that album, so I think Drake has done well with this. Although, replay value is always key for me when rating an album, so you'll have to get back to me in a month.

I see that. It's the exact opposite for me though. TLOP on first listen was GOAT to me, but the replay value is only like a 7 for me.
Now for Views, it's a grower to me. Didn't like the first two listens too much, but now I really, really like it. I've listened to it at least 6-7 times now.
Let's see what I think of this in a week.

I'll check it out this weekend sometime. What I think so far without hearing it and based off the singles is he's trying to move away from Hip-hop, based off the singles it sounds like he's moving in a shitty direction.

I also expect the album theme to be weird. I mean originally Toronto wasn't even feeling his music from lyrics in past albums, but after being successful in America he comes back a hero? The whole album is about the city that didn't want him till he proved he was worth wanting, so I'll see.

I just finished that new Beyoncé listen though last night, never was a fan but that album was masterclass.
