Yes Akira Toriyama did do some editing of it, but he did not write the series. He may be seen as the Author in credits, that is because he created the Dragon Ball manga. Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are the main two series. Dragon Ball GT can either be considered canon or non canon, it is up to you.

Well it's a possibility and it would stop the controversy around GT and would settle the SSGSS vs SSJ4 thing but i doubt it's going to happen.

Goku in gt also has decreased multipliers for his transformation and his ss is only a 3x boost max
