Hello my NB peeps everyone's favorite Cobra has come back with another one! This is a big project that I've been working on for some months now so I hope you all enjoy it!
Dragon Riders in the Land of Rua:
~Prologue~
It was peaceful day in the land of Rua, King Howard and Queen Georgia sat upon their thrones. They were alone, with the exception of the royal guards. They quietly talked to each other.
“It’s a great day isn't it, my love?" The king asked his wife.
The queen looked back at her husband, with a smile and nodded. “Yes it is. The dragons are out flying, the people are singing, the soldiers are happy, and most importantly, we're in peacetime."
The king chucked a bit. “Well, the soldiers will always be happy in peacetime; they get to spend time with their families."
The queen laughed at her husband’s remark.
A few minutes later a servant walked into the room and whispered something into the king’s ear.
“Let him in," The King said loudly
At that moment, a young boy about the age of 7, who wore raggedy clothing, but was very well groomed. The boy carried a pitch black dragon egg in his arms.
“Your majesty," the boy said as he kneeled down the king then nodded at him slightly acknowledging his bow. “Your majesty, Snowflake laid her egg today. As you can probably tell, "the boy said with a smile.
The king then stood up and took the egg from the boy’s arms, he then gave it to a member of the royal guard.
“Even though my son is five, he'll be a great rider and an even greater king one day, give this egg to him, let him nurse it until it hatches," The king said with a smile. “You are all relived of your duties today thank you for service my wife and I will be fine," The king said with a bigger smile on his face.
A devilish smile formed upon the young boys face as the royal guards passed by him.
“Boy, what's on your mind?" King asked after seeing the boy’s smile.
“Nothing, sir, just smiling,” the boy said with an odd laugh.
King Howard ignored the boy and turned around to head for his throne. As he walked towards his throne, the boy headed to the kitchen and prepared two glasses of wine. He put a powdery substance in one of the glasses and mixed it up until the powder dissolved.
The boy walked back into the room where King Howard and Queen Georgia were sitting and handed them the glasses of wine. “In celebration of your son becoming a rider!" The young boy said.
The King and Queen both took the glasses and lightly taped them together so they make a clink sound. “To our son!" They both said in unison. The king and queen then quickly finished the wine.
The boy sat there and watched them both for about five minutes until the queen started to choke on something. The king then tried to perform the Heimlich maneuver on his wife, but soon saw that her neck was swelling up. The king then yelled for the boy to get help, but the boy was nowhere to be found. The king then began to run to get help for his wife himself, but before he was able to reach the door a golden sword was pierced threw his body. The king then turned around to look his attacker in the eye and saw the young boy with the same devilish grin on his face as earlier.
“Why?" Was all King Howard was able to mutter before he fell to the ground and died.
The young boy laughed menacing and then left the room and castle quickly. Leaving the king and queen dead.
King Howard son was too young to become king; therefore his right hand man became King. That man eventually became the tyrant known as King Koga.
