I played on the launch of closed beta. It gets good reviews for a f2p. Not my style of gaming but I know a lot who enjoy it. Yes it's for NA alosl.

Its an alright game for free to play. Giving the game a 7.5 / 10

Although there is still a low level cap of 32 as more updates are released, the korean one goes up to like level 80 or something. Also the world isn't free roam which is a bit of a disappointment, instead you have some towns you can walk around in and talk to npc's and when you want to fight mobs you have to enter a portal to get to a dungeon that you can complete.

The good thing about this game is how you have complete control over your character during a fight, you actually have to aim your attacks so that they hit the opponent and can dodge by double tapping a direction key which makes fighting and pvp a lot more skill dependent. Normal pvp is balanced in a way where equipment doesn't matter, everyones stats and health are the same. Only place where equipment matters is Ladder PvP and dungeons. For now you can only have a party of 4 people but this is to increase in the future and all dungeons have a variable difficulty that you can set for better rewards.

I enjoyed the game for quite a while but because of the level cap I got bored of being stuck at 32 and having nothing to do except grind gear and pvp and all my friends from school ended up quitting so I stopped.

took off .5 because of the lousy item store, you actually have to BUY additional inventory space with actual money, so the entire time I played was a struggle where I was constantly worrying about how many slots I have for items. Also a skill reset costs like $15 or something to reset your skills, if you screw up its either do that or start a character over to fix it =.=''
Graphics are cartoonish and impossible to tell whats happening in PvP when everyone spams their skills in the 8vs8 so that takes off about 1 point as well.
Finally I hate how the game isn't free roam and to get better equips you have to grind the same dungeons and bosses so that cost another 1 point.
Thats why I give it 7.5 /10

Thanks this was the kind of review I was looking for..

Your score is reasonable.. irks me that the level cap is 32 but that's not too bad.. The game is still in it's early stages of the NA release so that doesn't bother me.. I did play Mabinogi until G8.. That's cool though I'll give it a shot and probably post a review of my own..

Thanks for your post =]

no problem and the games progressing at a steady rate. When I started playing the level cap was much lower, about 16 I think, and new stuff kept coming out like pvp, ladder pvp, big boss called minotaur nest that you can look up on youtube. Then cap went up to 32 and loads of new content and dungeons, gear and some additional pvp modes to go along with it . I bet if you start playing now by the time you get to 32 there will be a level cap increase up to the 40's somewhere.

Forgot to mention the variety of classes. 4 classes to choose from and each of these classes can pick out of 2 professions to go into. For example if you choose the sorceress class you get the option of either becoming an elementalist who specialises in the elements fire and ice attacks or a mystic who has dark attacks such gravity pulls, dark missile things, time-stop and long distance teleports.
The skill trees are quite complicated too and requires careful planning, everyone seems to have a unique build. You can choose to specialise in 1 area such as only upgrade into the ice side of the tree as an elementalist and not pick many fire skills so that enemies are frozen and slowed for longer durations and with a bit more damage, or focus on the fire side to maximise damage but not have so many disables, or I see a lot of people making up a hybrid build, a bit of everything so although their damage is a lot lower they have a wider variety of attacks and combos.

They are al right but long long maintenance times, sometimes even without warning, hopefully its better now, usually maintenance lasted around 8 hours. Yeah warriors are the kind of tank and spank and really annoying in pvp. In Dragon Nest you can knock your opponent up into the air and juggle them in the air if your good which is something warriors do a lot in pvp and gets annoying for me, but of course its not completely op, there are some skills that let you escape that but with long cool downs. Another tank and spank kind of character is the paladin which you can pick when you choose the cleric class.
