Dragon Ball Z Characters Are Insanely Overrated In Their Fights

DBZ characters can bust planets with ease. This is proven by Master Roshi, who only had a power level of 100 and blew up a moon (Which makes no sense, considering that since the average human in DBZ has a PL of 5, they should be able to bust countries. But I digress.). This is a fact.

However, DBZ characters never use these planet busting attacks in their fights, because guess what? If they destroy the planet, they also kill themselves. Not to mention it is completely and totally out of character for a DBZ character to use a planet busting attack on an enemy (Only Frieza, Kid Buu, and Cell attempted it, and they are all evil villains).

So, DBZ fighters usually have to bring the power of their attacks down, so that there is no risk of killing themselves or others. A perfect example:

Vegeta's full power, all out attack on Buu was a small mountain buster at best. In fact, few attacks in DBZ that are aginst actual enemies barely ever register above Mountain Busting.

Are they insanely powerful? Yes. That's obvious. But since they have to hinder their PL in their attacks, a lot of other factors make them much more powerful;

- Speed
- Raw Physical Strength

Roshi had a power level of about 120 when he destroyed the moon. Also, having 24 or more average humans with a power level of 5 doesn't mean that they can beat someone with a power level of 120.

That is, even if you get a group of people that have a collective power level higher than a single powerful person, that doesn't mean they can beat him. You need a single entity with a power level close to that person. Examples of this are:

- Goku destroying the Red Ribbon Army.
- Goku and Piccolo against Raditz.


Also, many other characters used a planet busting attack against villains like Goku vs. Vegeta (sayians saga), Goku vs Cell (IT Kamehameha), Vegeta Vs. Cell (Final flash), etc... but they control the direction of the attack so that they avoid destroying the planet they're on.

This. They jsut don't keep with planet busting atacks all the time, they need the planet to fight. They can't harm the people living in it.

the way i see it, is dbz characters are as strong as akira toryiama wants them to be at that very moment and this is why dragon ball is superior as it never felt like that

Again. What are you trying to prove? Vegeta's all-out attack was mountain buster? If they can bust planets they can bust anything below. Raditz could bust mountains. Roshi at 120 PL solo'd the moon, which is about 1/4 the size of earth. Saiyan saga Goku's PL was over 9000. No competition.

Special beam cannon can't planet bust. It's alot of Ki focused in one spot. Dragon Fist can't planet bust either. Those two moves could solo NV.

Pre-saiyan saga Vegeta blew up a planet.
