This is the only way I can see it.
in Dragon ball Z there should be exactly 4 timelines created by the time machine which I will name by numbers like the wiki did:
1-Timeline where Goku is saved from heart Virus by trunks 2, Same timeline in the original show, the present.
2-Timeline where Androids kill everyone and goku dies from the heart virus, Trunks 2 comes from this, Where Zamasu and Black currently reside.
3-Timeline where Cell 3 comes from, this timeline goku dies from the heart virus, androids killed everyone, Trunks 3 destroyed them via a remote and blue prints from timeline 4, trunks is killed by cell because he wasn't strong enough and toke his time machine to travel to timeline 1
4-Timeline similar to timeline 1 as a trunks from another timeline, trunks 3 in this one, came and gave goku medicine for his heart virus and warned them about the androids, however this timeline there was no cell from another timeline and they used blue prints from gero's basement to create a remote to destroy the androids* instead of training and killing them, and that remote was taken by trunks 3 afterwards to destroy the androids in his timeline.
so there's the people you need to know in each timeline:
-Goku
Goku 1 is current Goku.
Goku 2 is the Goku who died from the heart virus
Goku 3 is the goku from cell's timeline who is dead from the heart virus as well
Goku 4 is The goku who trunks 3 met and gave the heart virus cure. This one is alive and the androids were destoyed by the remote, other threats like Majin buu and Beerus should apperear and he probably faced them like in timeline 1.

-Trunks
Trunks 1 is a kid in a peaceful world currently.
Trunks 2 is known as Future Trunks who's helped timline 1 against cell and the androids.
Trunk 3 is similar to Trunks 2, he used the time machine to visit the past, timeline 4 is what he appered in and helped them with the heart virus and androids, the difference is that he didn't train in the time chamber because there was no cell in timline 4 and killed the androids with the remote he received from timline 4, was later killed by cell after he killed the androids of timline 3 with the remote after he returned to his original timeline.
Trunks 4 should be similar to Trunks 1.
-Cell
Cell 1 was killed by Trunks 2 and Krillen in gero's basement while it was in larva form before it reached maturity after years later.
Cell 2 was Killed by Trunks 2 when he arrived in his timeline.
Cell 3 is the cell that killed Trunks 3 and stole his time machine to get androids because the ones in timeline 3 were destoyed, and went to timeline 4 to check but there's no androids there because they were destroyed by the same remote so he went to timeline 1, 1 year prior to Trunks 2 arrival there and went underground for 4 years until the androids came and he moved out, absorbed the androids and was later killed by son-father kamehameha.
Cell 4 was destroyed like in timeline 1 by that timeline's Krillen and Trunks 3.
-Zamasu
Zamasu 1 was killed by beerus
Zamasu 2 is presumably the Zamasu currently with black in timline 2, he shouldn't have any motivation for his dream because he never met Goku in that timeline.
Zamasu 3 unknown. Goku is dead in that timeline so there's no reason for his* to hate mortals this much.
Zamasu 4 is apparently Goku Black, Zamasu 4 swapped bodies with Goku 4 and then killed him. Stole the time rings and wished for immortality and searched a timline where beerus didn't exist, in Timline 2 in the manga it was shown that supreme kai was killed in the battle against dabura and thus beerus died, it was also stated that all the other gods of destruction are dead in timeline 2 and that's why nobody is there to interfere with his quest to kill all mortals with his hands and he apparently joined forces with Zamasu 2 as they both shared the same dream and gave him the motivation and they both currently reside in timeline 2.
There's 4 green time rings, 4 timelines so there's 4 versions of the world each with it's own 12 universes.
It's quite confusing but I hope it helps.
