I got lost after 4. How can he kill Goku if Zamasu switched bodies with Goku? This is confusing. 4 timelines? I though it is present and Trunk's future, 2 timelines. Wtf

There are 4 timelines in Dragon Ball from the manga, hence 4 time rings shown in Super, plus the main time ring.

1) History of Trunks timeline- The original timeline of how it is supposed to be, ie what the universe originally meant to happen.
2) Present timeline -Cell Saga-Dragon Ball Super. Created by Trunks giving Goku the medicine.
3) Cell's timeline- Trunks kills the androids and Cell kills Trunks before he can go back to the past.
4) Unseen timeline-Created the second time Trunks came back from the future. In this one, the androids are dead killed by Goku and the Z warriors
