Ceris
After many long, harsh hours, for Eagan and Araleun, Ike woke to see his left arm wrapped up. He took a moment to gather himself got up. Eagan turned around to see him standing up.
“Araleun,” said Eagan once he was sure that Ike had gathered himself “he’s awake, can we go now?”
“Yeah,” she said back.
“Ike,” Eagan called back “need any help?” Ike shook his head.
“My legs are fine... my arm is the only problem,” he said still studying the damage.
Ike stood up and ran to catch up with the others. While they were walking Araleun tripped over something sticking from out of the ground.
“Is that…an egg?” said Araleun.
The egg had an extraordinary design on it. It had a pattern on the bottom half painted with a fire red color and a fade of orange lightly. On the top half it was a scaly type design with a deep, sapphire blue color on it. On the top in the middle it had an azure, diamond jewel stuck in it. Araleun picked it up.
“What kind of egg is that?” asked Ike.
“An awesome one!” exclaimed Eagan.
“Let’s take it with us,” said Araleun eager to see what’s inside.
“Oh yeah good choice,” said Ike sarcastically, “we find an egg in the desert and we pick it up and take it... as if we aren’t in enough trouble already.”
“But what if it helps us?” argued Araleun.
“And what if it kills us?” he replied, “We almost got demolished by that Cerberus thing, what if this is much worse.”
“We need as much help as we can get,” she said.
“It’s like a 99% chance it will kill us.”
“1% is plenty,” she said “So quit whining.”
Ike stopped talking even though he still didn’t agree. Araleun took the egg and held it securely. A little while later there was a medium sized town.
“So what town is this, Araleun?” asked Eagan.
“Ceris,” she replied, “and our first stop.”
“Oh,” he said.
They took moments to scan the layout of this new town... Ceris looking at everything for a few minutes. It was like someone just decided to build a town in the middle of nowhere, in a barren wasteland. There were houses and stores on desert sand. Most of the people here were merchants, though there were some citizens. The merchants were selling items such as bags, jewels and gems, while some were selling animals like horses, goats, and other cattle. A few of them held small, worn out weapons that, just to sell them, the claimed them to be of good quality and ancient weapons. The second they walked near Ceris they were burning from the extremely hot weather. It seemed to be even colder than the normal part of the desert, probably because it was so crowded.
They entered the city seeing a butcher.
“Finally some food,” said Ike.
“I’m going to eat the food I already packed,” said Araleun.
Eagan and Ike walked toward the butcher.
The butcher had a white apron on with some blood and dirt on it. He was tall and fat with a chubby face. His eyes seemed slightly lazy.
“Hello,” said the butch making Ike and Eagan almost retched from the atrociousness of his breath
“We need the best food you can give us for 30 gold,” said Eagan.
“From what I can see your friend can probably some meat short as he is from my wide variety,” he said talking about Ike.
“It’s not wise to talk to someone with a blade like that,” Ike threatened.
“Nor is it wise to threaten a butcher.”
“You really want to die don’t you.”
“Tough talk for someone who looks 9 years o’ age.”
“Oh well, seems like you had a well enough life... up to now of course.”
Ike pulled out his scimitar while the butcher pulled out a knife.
“Enough!” Eagan interrupted, “Ike quit it.”
“But he…”Ike protested.
“I don’t care, we came here to rest and get supplies not to pick pointless fights.”
Ike reluctantly agreed.
“Did you say Ike?” yelled a voice from far away.
Ike looked around see where the voice was coming from. He saw a man running toward him. He had vest on and short, worn pants that didn’t go lower than his ankles. His side burns went down to his brown, shaggy, but yet full-grown, beard. The man also had short hair that went to his neck. His eyes looked as though they were lazy, but Ike knew that the man had almost perfect eyesight for he now remembered who he was. The man also had a bow slung over his back and a bag hanging over his shoulder.
“Geon?” Ike questioned with some awe.
