Journey to Carvahall
“I think we lost them,” said Ike trying to take as much air in as possible.
“Yeah,” Araleun replied panting.
“Well first where are we?!” exclaimed Ike spreading out his arms his voice echoed throughout the desert.
“Well that’s easy,” said Araleun staring at her map she pointed her finger in the center of it, “we’re in the Tarnagian Desert.”
“Great,” complained Ike “three kids stuck in the middle of a desert,” he slumped into the sand.
“Stop whining,” replied Araleun obviously annoyed.
“Eagan is starting to wake up and I had a lot of supplies already in the bag on my back.”
“It looks like we should head for Carvahall,” Araleun jabbed her finger somewhere in the lower right corner continued to talk, “it is probably one of the biggest cities in the kingdom, and one of the few places Draenor does not control.”
“Wait, but isn’t it in war with Draenor... I mean what if when we get there he claims it, and even if he doesn’t no doubt that they’re looking for anyone that they can to fight. So we’ll definitely have to help them.”
“Well it’s the only place that we can go according to the map,” argued Araleun, “so for now we’ll make a fire.”
“With?” Ike questioned.
“I already told you I had some supplies, that includes wood,” Araleun replied.
“Ok ok I’ll start up the fire,” responded Ike, “you just keep trying to wake up Eagan, and figure out how we will get to Carvahall.”
“Right.”
Ike looked for a good place to make the fire, while Araleun continuously tried to wake up their friend. Suddenly Eagan started to moan.
“Finally,” said Araleun. Then she dragged him in the sand and threw him on the ground which really woke him up.
Eagan scrambled onto the ground to sand only to see Araleun and Ike sitting by a fire staring at him. He looked around more and only saw sand... and more sand. Then realizing what Araleun did he turned his attention directly to her.
“What was that for?” he said.
“Just doing my job,” she said slyly.
“What happened?” he said clearly confused.
“We were fighting off the Orgols then you made some kind of radius that went around you and knocked back all the other Orgols, but then you fainted,” explained Ike.
“And the others you saved them right the fire wasn’t that bad right,” said Eagan worried about the response. Ike simply shook his head, and Eagan took the hint.
“I got it,” said Araleun randomly “we need to go west directly through the desert, then go slightly northwest around the Circle of Fire which will force us to go up and through the Eldor Mountains go down the Serpent’s Pass then straight south, and we’re there.”
“Of course we’ll need to make a few stops at other smaller towns and camps,” she added, “the only problem is that there are some of Draenor’s camps and prisons.”
“Right know I would say something like I knew it or that’s what I was gonna say, but you lost me at directly through the desert,” said Eagan.
“Me too,” agreed Ike.
Araleun gave a superior smile.
“We should leave at sunrise,” she said “for now we should rest.”
“Ok,” said Eagan and Ike as if they were twins.
“OK LET'S GET MOVING!” yelled a completely refreshed Ike.
“Shhhhhh,” said Araleun “He’s still asleep,” she continued looking at Eagan.
“Hey is it sunrise yet,” said Ike eagerly and ready to go.
“Almost,” she answered in a hushed voice “We’ll wake him up in an hour.”
“A whole hour!” complained Ike, “I can’t wait that long I’m ready to go!”
“Patience” she simply and calmly replied.
Ike protested and complained so much that the hour went by like seconds.
“Ok,” said Araleun cutting Ike’s whining off. Araleun kicked Eagan in the head.
“Wake up,” she said “time to go.”
“Ok I’m getting kind of tired of you hurting me whenever you want me to wake up,” said
Eagan annoyed and angry.
“Wow you woke up quick,” said Ike.
“Be quiet we have to get moving.”
“I just hope that Carvahall isn’t burned down or something by the time we get there,” Araleun thought “No I must think positive.”
Ike, Eagan, and Araleun walked off.
The desert was harsh. There water and food supply was running low, dreadfully low. The only thing they could do after they drank the last of it in about a week, all they could do was hope to find a cactus with water in it. Nothing could cheer them up in this desert. The scenery here was no better than the conditions. The weather was burning hot, nowhere near the conditions that a normal human could stay healthy in. Which led the children to wonder if something or someone was helping them. Due to this they soon learned that the desert was no place for unprepared children.
A about 2 or 3 long callous weeks later they saw a small campsite. There were three Orgols and another weird looking creature. It was like a Cerberus (giant dog with three heads) but it had two short, strong hind legs that looked as though they could knock down a castle. The three teens tried to slowly walk past, but the Cerberus looking thing found their scent. It hoped up out of instinct and ran toward them. Then it made a short stop in front of the three.
As it stood, the three heads gnawed at the air with the obvious thirst for blood. Its teeth were so sharp and giant that the creature couldn’t even close its mouth. The teeth were razor-sharp with drool dripping out of it. Its front legs were colossal about as big as 5 Orgols stacked on top of it(about 50 feet). Its eyes were dark.
Suddenly one of the three heads shot out a black flame at Ike. He almost dodged it but his left arm got hit. He screamed out of pain.
“Ike!” gasped Araleun running to him.
“No,” said Eagan “he helped me now I shall return the favor.”
Araleun nodded. The creature was about to shoot another flame but Eagan smacked one of the heads with his staff making a chain reaction of it hitting the other two heads. It toppled to the side. Eagan picked up Ike and ran forward with Araleun. The beast tried to give chase, but one of the Orgols threw a hook around his ankle tripping the monster. While Ike was being carried by his friend he saw a figure in the tent. Darnar! Ike could see him breathing, but he was asleep.
“He’s…alive?” questioned Ike in his mind then he fell asleep.
