I think it will be a draw but you forget that Alucard (hellsing) has schrodingers ability to be everywhere and nowhere,in the physical and mental realm Meaning he can't be killed against his will

Hmm, Gabe takes this easy, I'd say.

Even though, I hate the bastard. (I reeeeeeeeaaaallly wasn't happy with LOS)

(Btw, don't expect there to be many people on the base who know much about the one and only CV series or LOS)

Meh, I'm very loyal to the original canon, and I wasn't happy with LOS at all.
Not because of it being a re-boot, but because I felt like I was a kinda stupid/money grubbing project.

Well I meant without shrodingers powers but I don't think Alucard is capable of killing Gabriel either way.

and with schrodingers powers, I think Alucards main weakness is magic/sealing , which I'm sure Gabriel possesses

I personally thought it was great. Although the first LOS was melodramatic, but the ending was definitely amazing.

Mirror of fate was better in terms of story/characters though

and LOS2 looks like its going to be nothing short of fantastic.

I mean the original CV has run its course....there's really not much left to tell. Dracula only exists as some weird reincarnation of the portagonist now. So all they're doing now is dragging the series out and sales haven't been great with the past few games until LOS.

To me, LOS was just another bugged to hell GoW-like game with "meh/amusing" gameplay. But, to each his own I suppose =D

But, I feel like there is still more that needs to be told about the DcW of 1999. The original canon shouldn't be trashed just yet. For god sakes it's over 20 years old; if they're gunna drop it(I'm assuming they will), they should at least give the fans a little closure and end it right. Not with this Soma crap.

Well the thing is with the original is that they didn't have a clear vision. I mean they could technically have just ended it with the first game, but they then kept making more stories with Dracula coming back.

and then he finally dies which should have been the final game, but then they brought in the whole soma thing.

The thing I like with LOS is that it has a thought out story, characters that are already established, and they said they're going to end it with LOS2.

Personally I liked that story/world a lot better. They got a great cast of voice actors, including patrick stuart, richard madden as Alucard(who plays robb stark in game of thrones), and Robert Carlyle

and the characters are just a lot more interesting with dialogue that makes sense.

The gameplay works, even though it's reminiscent to GOW(even though GOW is pretty much DMC+Prince of Persia)

plus, castlevania had the whip/chain before GoW and I can't see a better way they could have done the gampeplay. Although I hear LOS2 is a lot better and is more distinct.

I get the closure part, I feel the same way about DMC, but idk, the original continuity of CV was really convoluted to me

but to each his own as you said

Even though Drac's revival got kinda old after awhile, the games were always great and so were the new characters.(not the N64 ones or a few of the GB ones xD)

Few things I have to give to LOS: Alucard looks badass af (I'm guessing his name is still alucard), the plot was rather well written and I liked how they mentioned how the surname 'Belmont" started. I really like the design of Vampire Killer in that game, and the magic flying tittie monster that gabe can summon when he gets all the crystal things.

Tbh, I actually sold my LOS because I reached a fatal glitch that made it impossible for me to progress.
(It was in the cog wheel room in Carmilla's castle.)

ah gotcha

Have you played Mirror of Fate?

It's on the 3ds, but it's a sidescroller like the original CV except with the LOS storyline which is between in LOS1 and LOS2 and ties them in

I think you'll like that one better than LOS; I did.

The ending was really sad and it wasn't as melodramatic as LOS1

I heard from many that MoF is nothing compaired to PoR.

But, It has that badass looking Adrian in it, and I just might end up liking it. So, I'll give it a spin :p

Yeah Alucard is awesome in that one, definitely better than the original Alucard imo; and I say with confidence that you might think so as well after playing it.

There are 3 playable characters in that game and Alucard is one of them. Their stories are split up but tie in for the finale.

But the original Alucard has so much symbolism behind his character...is the new one really THAT badass?

yeah, I can't say much without spoiling the game though, but I think you'll like him a lot.

You should definitely try Mirror of Fate, especially if you're a castlevania fan.

It's not that long and it plays like LoS mixed with the original CV

also getting 100% by collecting everything in each area gives you an extra end cutscene, but it isn't anything crucial to the plot.

but it's definitely fun and is essentially a tribute to the original castlevania and symphony of the night

Is there a Vampire hunting Belmont in it? (crosses fingers for Trevor, Sypha and Grant)
