Alright, sorry for the long wait and anticipation, but I've had a lot of applications that I needed to review and to sync with other applicants and training fields as well as some other stuff I had to take care of. Now that everything is done we can finally start the training. My name is McRazor and I will be your sensei, hopefully until the very last jutsu in this jutsulist. :)

My pleasure. Now, before we start with the actual training I want to say a few things. First of all I have chosen to train you after seeing your other training threads and I'm hoping to have a quality training and to pass as much of my own knowledge onto you. For that, I need your full cooperation and I need you to read, think and ask questions. If you can do these things then I'm sure we'll both enjoy the training and it won't be mindless copy-pasting from the jutsu list.

I'll try to explain the core of each jutsu the very best I can and I will sometimes add some possible usages and anything I find interesting about the jutsu and in return I would like you to give me your opinion on the jutsu, how you would use it, how you would defend if it was used against you and so on. In essence, I want this training to be like a discussion instead of me telling you what to do and what not to.

Do you have any questions?

None at all sensei. I would certainly prefer a discussion based training method over copy/paste :).
Good. Let's start with some of the very basics. What can you tell me about ninja, chakra and ninjutsu? Please use your own words and tell me everything you think is necessary. I will not grade your response and it's ok if you miss some points. I'm here to add on and fix your mistakes, so no worries.

Of course sensei. I shall begin with ninja. Though it is hard to describe one of the three without referencing the other as they are very closely interrelated. The most basic and cut and dry answer to what ninja are is that they are tools and the military strength of each nation. Almost all ninja belong to a hidden village. Such as the Leaf or the Cloud. Their role in these villages is to perform missions to benefit their village, nation, and to maintain peace. Missions carried out by ninja can include tactical reconnaissance, assassinations, escorts, sabotage, and even capture missions. Not all ninja however are loyal to the village they were born in. These ninja would be marked as rouge ninjas - the most famous example of this would be the Akatsuki.

Despite most people naming ninja as just simple tools many famous figures have described ninja as those who endure to achieve their dreams and goals. The most famous example of this would be Hashirama Senju, hailed as the god of shinobi and founder of the village system.

Shinobi are most famously known for their manipulation and weaponizing of chakra. Ninja use chakra as their primary weapon along with ninja tools. Chakra is considered the most basic form of physical energy. It is present in all life. It can be molded and channeled into techniques. Some of the most common uses of this would be the basic five elemental nature transformations: katon, raiton, suition, fuuton, and doton. Each element has its own strengths and weaknesses to other elements and they are all interrelated. They can also be combined into advanced elemental transformations such as wood release (Earth + Water). Chakra is said to have originated from the Juubi, the primordial entity of chakra. However the Sage of the Six Paths's mother ate fruit from his true form and became the first being to use and weaponize chakra. Ever since this ninja have used chakra as the basis of their weapons.

Ninjutsu itself is specifically the molding of chakra into a weapon form. Ninjutsu means literally "ninja techniques." Ninjutsu is one of three subcategories under jutsu. The other two being taijutsu, body techniques, and genjutsu, illusionary techniques. Unlike genjutsu, which is purely based on illusions and causes no outward physical damage, ninjutsu is very real and all ninjutsu are can affect one's being in physical ways. The basic five elemental nature transformations are considered ninjutsu. However ninjutsu can go beyond this and be used to deceptively transform the user into other objects or to evade attacks. Ninjutsu can also be used to summon other entities into battle to assist you. It can also be used for medical purposes (referred to as medical ninjutsu). Ninjutsu, as I said earlier, can also create more complex and advanced nature transformations such as wood release. Ninjutsu used in conjunction with taijutsu creates nintaijutsu - the greatest example of this being the lightning armor of the third and fourth raikage.

All three are very interrelated and the three make the basis for the ninja world. Without one of the foundations our world would be drastically different. However these three do cause problems for the world. Ninja missions to better their village and maintain peace selfishly bring pain and destruction to others. However the problem is much deeper rooted than the ninja missions themselves. However it can also be argued that even if these three did not exist in their current states the problems of the ninja world would remain as it is human nature to cause pain and suffering.

I hope I covered everything adequately :).

Excellent reply but you got a few things about the chakra wrong. Here are my definitions where I explain what you got wrong about chakra as well as some additions.

Ninja

A ninja is someone who uses their full abilities in the service of his/hers beliefs, working to achieve a goal. This goal can be anything from peace to war, money, destruction, personal griefs or even revenge and can be shared with others or individual. Most ninjas are fighters and correspond to the bulk of the military force of the great nations. However, a ninja doesn't need to be a fighter. Even medics or a simple carpenter may, in times of need, use his abilities (medical knowledge or abilities in working with wood for example) to accomplish the goals he set to himself, following his beliefs.

Chakra

Chakra is the energy that is formed through the passive combination of both the Physical and the Spiritual energies in a sentient being (every living being with a conscious mind has chakra). Physical energy corresponds to the vitality of the body and its own energy. Spiritual energy corresponds to the mind or spirit, and comes from the awareness and "soul" of each sentient being.

Some ninjas have high levels of chakra because they have great physical energy (like the Akimichi or even Tsunade) and others because of their spiritual energy (like the Uchiha and the Yamanaka). However, its much more difficult to increase the spiritual energy than the physical one, thus why all ninjas pass through intensive physical workout.

Yin and Yang are based on this same concept. Yin is the basis of the spirit while Yang the basis of the body. In this i won't go into more dept because there are 2 things to consider: Yin/Yang manipulation in our RP is different from the manga one and both are more or less inacessible.

Chakra flows in a circulatory system inside your body, in a way that much resembles the blood circulation. This circulatory system has 8 small reservoirs that act as both storage but also chakra regulation. These are the eight inner gates. Along your circulatory system, small "portals" exist that enable you to expell chakra from your body. These are called Tenketsu and there are 361 of them scattered allong the body. When a tenketsu opens, chakra poors out of it. Its by molding the chakra that comes out of the tenketsu that you produce ninjutsu and genjutsu.

Ninjutsu

Ninjutsu, or Ninja Arts, is the ability to, through the use of chakra, accomplish tasks that would be otherwise impossible to do. Ninjutsu are done by 2 stepts: focusing your chakra and molding your chakra. Focusing is using your will power to "will" a portion of your chakra to do something. On the other hand, molding is giving your chakra a set of characteristics that will enable you to produce the desired end effect.

Think of the chakra flow as our breathing. Normally, it happens passively, without any conscious intervention. However, when you need to you can use your will to control it. Its the same with your chakra flow. Its happens normally without your consicious intervention. However, you can focus your chakra and make it produce something.

Now, molding the chakra is done by two basic principles: Shape Manipulation and Nature Transformation. These correspond to the two broad areas that one needs to change in the chakra to produce a jutsu. Shape manipulation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired form while Nature transformation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired set of characteristics/properties. Sometimes, to better mold chakra, ninja use Handseals. Handseals are simply hand gestures that allow the ninja to more easily concentrate and mold the chakra into the desired technique.

Ah that makes sense. I had known about the inner regulatory gates before hand it just didn't occur to me to include the anatomy in the explanation. However I had no idea about the 361 tenketsu in the body and that when you mold chakra it comes out of those tenketsu to be used for ninjutsu and genjutsu. So these 361 points would be where, for example, a Hyuuga would strike at with their Gentle Fist to prevent the release of ninjutsu and genjutsu?

My second question would be regarding handseals. So my understanding of it is that handseals assist in concentration, making the molding of the chakra into the desired shape and transformation. So with training one can reduce the hand seals they need to use ninjutsu (Mastery, Specialty, and Completed training)?

Yes, those are the chakra points. As you've seen in the anime, when Hyuuga strike them, they block the chakra flow and through the advanced techniques they are able to completely shut off someone's chakra flow. This is more or less how it looks like from Hyuuga perspective. The big circle in your stomach is where everything starts. It's the biggest chakra "reservoir" and from there you control your chakra and channel it into your hands, mouth, feet, etc.

Yes, that's exactly it! :) In our system we can specialize in two elements of choice. Our primary affinity allows us to perform those jutsus with the use of a single handseal while our second affinity allows us to perform the handseals quicker than usually.

Let's proceed. Since we both touched the other elemental natures how about we talk a bit about them. As you said there are the 5 basic elemental natures and I'd like you to tell me their names, properties, relations, etc. Basically anything you find of relevance.

Of course. I'll start with the element we're going to train.

Katon

As I've said Katon is one of the five basic elemental natures. Katon means fire release and uses extremely hot chakra that is expelled primarily from the mouth and lungs. Katon primarily uses the tiger hand seal, which if I recall correctly is regarded as the most attack based hand seal. Katon is closely related to suiton (water release) and fuuton (wind release). Against suiton, it is weaker as water will smother and cool the hot chakra. If an S-ranked Katon jutsu were to clash with an A-ranked suiton jutsu the two would cancel each other out and leave the battlefield very misty. If an S-Ranked katon and suiton attacks were to clash the suiton would prevail and be downgraded to an A-ranked suiton. I apologize if my elemental interactions are a bit off :p. Against wind (fuuton) katon is stronger. This is because wind feeds fires flames and increases their size.

Almost no katon jutsu are used in close proximity as they are too dangerous to set off right next to the user due to explosions, firestorms, and the heat in general. Uchiha are probably the most famous fire release users as they almost all are born with it as their chakra affinity. And the most famous fire release technique would be amaterasu, which is gained through the awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Not all Mangekyo Sharingan are awakened with amaterasu.

Due to its strength against wind the user can also use katon and fuuton in conjunction with one another. This will create much larger and stronger flames.

Suiton

Another of the basic five, suiton, or water release, is the manipulation of existing water or creating of water by using one's own chakra. It is storng against fire because it will extinguish the flames. It is weak against earth because earth already contains moisture inside of it and can stop the force that drives water.

Suiton can be more easily used if there is already an existing water source to manipulate. However it has been seen that more advanced and stronger users can create the water themselves using their own chakra. The two most notable examples of this would be Kisame and Tobirama Senju. Suiton is probably the most famous from kirigakure as most of their ninja use this as their affinity.

One cool thing I like about suiton is that you can easily use it in conjunction with raiton. Since electricity conducts easily through water you can increase the attack damage through a suiton jutsu by using raiton. However you have to be careful in the usage though as to not shock yourself with it as well. A clone could use a raiton jutsu in order to safely implement it. Suiton can also be used with fuuton, like katon, to increase the overall destructive power creating more concussive force.

Raiton

By increasing the frequency of the user's chakra the user can create lightning. Unlike katon, which is purely destructive on a large scale, raiton can be used on a smaller and more precise scale. Raiton primarily uses piercing attacks and quick movement. When damaged by a raiton jutsu the victim, if still alive, will experience severe paralysis leaving them extremely vulnerable to a follow up attack.

Lightning is strong against Doton (earth release) as it can travel through the earth and break through it. However it is weak against fuuton because wind acts as an insulator, containing the electrical current.

As seen through lightning users like Sasuke and Killer B, raiton can be channeled into a weapon such as a sword or kunai increasing its piercing power and speed. It also gives the weapon a paralysis effect when it enters the victim's body.

Lightning as I stated above in suiton can be used with suiton to enhance its attack power.

Fuuton

Fuuton, or wind release, is a very precise and brute element. Unlike raiton however it is used to cut and slash through its targets. Wind chakra is extremely thin and fast moving, its speed only surpassed by lightning. Similar to raiton, as we saw with Danzo, wind can be used and channeled into blades, kunai, and shuriken.

Wind is strong against lightning as it insulates it. Yet is weak against fire because it fuels the katon.

As I said above in suiton and katon wind can be used in conjunction with both. Suiton to increase the concussive force and katon to increase the size and strength of the flames.

Doton

Doton allows the user to manipulate the earth around them. By earth this includes dirt, mud, rock and can even be used to manipulate the density of what it is manipulating.

Earth is probably the most versatile element. It can be used for attack, defense, and surroundings control. Large scale earth techniques have the power to greatly change the battle field to the user's advantage. It also allows the user to potentially travel underground and set up surprise attacks. Likes suiton, earth release does not require there to be pre-existing earth. It can be molded and expelled through the mouth.

It is strong against water as it already contains moisture and is weak against lightning because the lightning travels through it easily. Earth release was shown by Hiruzen to be used in conjunction with fire release. For example mud and fire would create a potent attack, such as the one used against Orochimaru.

A few references I like to keep nearby which easily show the elemental interactions:

All five of these elements are combined in different ways to create many other advanced nature transformations.

I apologize if they seem a bit thin. I started to get short on time toward the end :p.

Brilliant! I have nothing really to add. You covered everything and the elemental interactions with ranks were perfect. I see you have the grip and feeling of how things go here so we shouldn't have too much trouble throughout the training. I'll leave my few paragraphs in the spoiler in case you want to read them, but since you covered everything so well, there's no need.

Wind is the most versatile element in our universe because it's everywhere around us. Air is not a solid but using our chakra we can condense it into sharp projectiles, blades and such. One of its components is oxygen which makes the fire burn. The interesting thing here is the amount of wind (air) you put up to the fire. With a small amount you make the fire burn stronger and spread faster while with a huge amount of air you will put the fire out. Because it contains oxygen it is, unfortunately, weak to fire while being a natural insulator it's strong against lightning, capable of dispersing it and preventing its spreading. It's a good combination with water because, for example, it gives a water projectile more thrust power and it speeds it up. This is also applicable to various ninja tools, so keep that in mind. Regarding earth, they're neutral but there can be some interesting usages. For example, picking up dust from the ground, small rocks or even making giant patches of earth float above the ground, and such.

Lightning is, again, a very violent and sharp element, capable of paralyzing and burning our opponents. It is considered to be the fastest of the basic elements. It's generated by its molecules being forced to move at a great velocity which causes it to be unstable to a degree. Lightning is weak against wind, as I already said, because wind is a natural insulator while it's very strong against earth, being capable of destroying it and crumbling into pieces. It's a very good combination with water because it electrocutes it, while it's neutral to fire because these two are both energy based elements and they simply pass through eachother.

Earth is once again a versatile element because we walk on it. Mostly everywhere you walk, you will be able to use earth techniques, which gives a great advantage against water users when battling without nearby water sources. It is a solid element with great crushing and piercing characteristics. It has a tremendous amount of applications thus why it has the most techniques. It's projectiles possess a great force because of their mass and it's proportional to the increase of acceleration. It's simple logic. The faster you throw a rock the more it will hurt, lol. Earths' main weakness is lightning as mentioned above, while it's strong against water because it can split water waves, redirect them, push them back, etc. Mass is the key. It's a great combination with fire because it turns it into lava or in case you have mud, it hardens it. And as I already said, it has it's unique applications in conjunction with wind.

Water is a liquid element and can be found anywhere in our world. I won't go into specific numbers but you're aware that a lot of stuff is made of water or has water in it. This makes it a very versatile element, the second most versatile actually. Water is strong against fire because of its extinguishing power, but it's weak against earth because it can't break it down and it only makes it wet. Note however that in some cases water turns earth to mud which can be useful but also a double egde. Regarding the other two elements, water is very good in combination with both. Lightning electrocutes the water while wind gives it more force and makes it generally stronger.

Now to the element of choice for this training session. Fire is a dangerous element, capable of burning stuff in the matter of seconds. It's a very violent element because of its destructive power. It's main trait is heat, which is the cause to melting and incineration. It's important for you to notice that fire requires oxygen to burn. Since oxygen is a part of the air we breathe, no air would mean no oxygen. The counterpart would be more air resulting in more oxygen and a stronger fire. However, there are a few scenarios for this and we'll cover them through the training. It's weak to water because it's easily extinguished but it's strong against wind because it "eats" the air and the oxygen. It's neutral against lightning and since none are solids they pass through each other. Fire with earth is a good combination because it can harden mud or turn regular earth into lava.

Now that I've checked your basic knowledge it's time to put everything we've said so far to use. Before getting to the techniques, I need to make sure that you can "unlock", and control the fire nature. For that, I will need you to focus on your chakra and turn it into fire. Then you need to channel it into your palms and burn this paper. Shows paper. This is a chakra paper and it reacts to chakra natures. If you manage to gather your fire chakra and channel it in your hands then it will leave ashes behind. I suggest you take a comfortable position because it might take a while. :)

Of course sensei :).

Jugram takes the paper from his sensei's hand. He closed his eyes and began to imagine what fire is to him. It was strong and unbiased. Before focusing his chakra on the paper in his hand to cause it to turn to ash he let himself feel the chakra being molded in his stomach and lungs as those are two of the main locations for katon. Despite being destructive, the hot chakra in his body gave him a warm sensation. While in his stomach it made him feel as if he was by a hearth: safe. The fire would protect him. Jugram began to focus his chakra on his hand now and the paper. Suddenly he felt a warm tingling in his hand. He opened his eyes and sure enough the paper began to lose its moisture first causing it to become stiff and crumple in his hand. Then it began to turn to ash in his hand. It left behind nothing but a small pile of it.

It would've been perfect if you said that your physical and spiritual energies molded into chakra. However, well done. Now that you have awakened your new chakra type it's time to start with the jutsus.

(Katon: Ryu Kaen Bakufuu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Flame Blitz
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user inhales and then exhales, shooting small balls of fire at the opponent.

It's a very simple ball of fire that you spit at your opponent. With mid range it's a good technique to start a battle going. It's important that you become aware of few types of jutsus. For fire those are projectiles, streams, alternative releases and combinations. Projectiles mean that once you shoot them out you have no longer contact with them and they are a separate entity which allows you to continue with other techniques. I won't go too much into detail about this now but if you're interested (and you should be) then you can find more in post.

So, what I would like you to do now and for the rest of the training is to perform the jutsu and be detailed, explain the whole process on how you create the jutsu, then tell me some advantages and disadvantages and finally and most importantly how you would use this jutsu offensively and how you would defend if it was used against you.

Of course sensei. Before I begin I'll also explain my current understanding of the types of attacks. So as you said projectiles are simply separate of your body once you expel them. Such as this technique as it is a fireball. However there are also stream types such as Suidanha, and Goka Messhitsu (excuse any spelling errors as I'm typing this on my phone :p). These attacks are continuous from the point you expel them at, usually the mouth. Streams, unlike projectiles, offer a more spread out use of the chakra. Instead of burst and quick damage with projectiles streams can offer more equal damage throughout. Some streams even expand as they love forward. Such as Goka Messhitsu, Goka Mekkyaku, and Bakufu Ranbu. Not all fit these generalizations perfectly of course. For alternative releases I immediately think of Amaterasu. Amaterasu is a focal point attack and as such as no concussive power like suiton. It has no kinetic energy. Instead it just materializes on what the eye is currently focused on. This is my current understanding of it. I'll read the post you linked as soon as I get home in a few hours :).

To begin with I will first focus on creating chakra. I allow my spiritual and physical energies to mold together creating new, raw chakra. This chakra has no shape or nature as of yet. Then I'll focus on the idea of fire yet again. I remind myself of the warm sensation it brings and the protection of the earth. Yet I also remind myself of its destructive powers. Soon enough my lungs will feel warm as I successfully heat up my raw chakra and use nature transformation to create fire chakra. With this new fire chakra I will then apply shape transformation and will it into the shape of a fireball. Once finished I expel it from my lungs through my mouth.

Some advantages to this technique are that it is extremely chakra efficient. It costs only 10 chakra yet it can still be used to harm the enemy. With creative use it can be used to bait the enemy into using suiton if you so wish so as to trick them with your own counter attack. Another advantage is that it does expel multiple fireballs at your enemy and can be used as a diversion thanks to this to split their attention.

The main disadvantage to this technique is that it is easily countered as it is low ranked. A d ranked suiton jutsu will still prevail against it, assuming the size and shape of the water allow. So without creative use this technique is fairly straight forward to block.

There are quite a few ways to use this technique offensively. As you said it is a good way to begin a battle. With it I can distract my opponent and force them to defend against it. I could follow up with a combination such as a wind technique to increase the size and strength of the fireballs or I could use freeform and throw a smoke bomb and hide myself with hiding like a mole to allow myself to surprise attack my opponent.

To defend against it the most straight forward answer would be to use a suiton to defend against it. Such as a d ranked water shield. Since the water shield has the elemental advantage it wouldn't be dispelled until two fire balls hit it (d+d). Additionally I could go underground and hide myself there which would also allow me to counterattack.

Superb explanation of the whole process. Well done. Just a small note I'd like to add. If a jutsu mentions multiple something in its description and it's rank is, for example, B then that means that the whole jutsu is B rank in power and all those projectiles divide their power equally. So if you were to spit two of these fireballs they would together be D ranked but separately only E rank. Any questions before we move on?

None at all sensei. Thank you for pointing that out. That's definitely something I'll be taking into consideration in battles and situations when I need to decide to use a single projectile or multiple.

(Katon: Kaen Shuriken Ranbu ) - Fire Release: Blazing Shuriken Dance
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user will throw several shuriken infused with fire at the enemy and then, through a mental command, ignites them to cause extra damage.

For this technique you throw your shuriken and then blow out a few fireballs that engulf the shuriken and race towards the opponent. Pretty straightforward. It's also a good technique against certain wind techniques. There is one specific that this would work perfectly with. It's a wind wall that explodes on contact with objects and this would just add a bit more to it.

To begin the next technique I begin to mold my spiritual and physical energy once again allowing them to mold together to form raw chakra. Once completed I then use the chakra and heat it up within my lungs creating katon chakra enabling the use for this technique. I quickly reach down to the ninja tools pouch strapped to my leg under my cloak and throw two shuriken out. Once the shuriken are flying I expel my fire chakra to the shurikens, infusing them with fire. Then by my command I unleash the infused fire and ignite the shurikens.

The first and most obvious advantage to this technique is that you give your shuriken an extra punch over the regular shuriken. The fire infused shuriken will become stronger in enemy wind techniques given that the wind technique isn't B-Rank or above. The technique is also chakra efficient give the quantity of shuriken you can produce.

I do have one question regarding the quantity. So if you use one shuriken and infuse it with fire it will be D-Rank? And if you use two each of them will be E-rank? Or is it independent from this jutsu since they are shuriken that are just infused with fire? Just need some clarification there :p

There are a few disadvantages to this technique. Namely that it would only take a low level suiton jutsu to block these easily. As well as other shuriken or kunai to block them in mid air. The katon chakra doesn't actually add any cutting power or speed to any other shuriken and kunai can easily just intercept them.

To use it offensively as you said I could take advantage if my enemy uses a fuuton against me. This way the shuriken will gain strength in the fuuton and create a larger fire. However if I do this I will also still need to defend against the incoming fuuton as the shape and size of the shuriken will not neutralize it. I could also use my own fuuton in conjunction with it to give it strength. The shuriken can also be used as a good distraction to bait the opponent to possibly using one of their three jutsu per turn to put them at a slight disadvantage.

To defend against it as I said above I could throw my own shuriken and kunai. If this isn't possible in some circumstances I could use suiton to block the shuriken and extinguish the infusion of fire.
