As the title says, it is my opinion that there is a double standard type review in the fandoms. Some time, I also refer to that type of review as a one-eye-closed, one-eye-opened review. Why?
Usually, you will see certain person say that their favorite character is owsome, he was born with everything, and he is smart. They completely ignore the manga, and choose deliberately to have such belief. Afterward, they will say that other character are weak, they are stupid, they cannot do anything without external help. Well, you may have started to see what I mean - sounds like Sasuke fanboys vs Naruto fanboys, but it is not. Those two are simply the famous one. Now see:
Everyone thought Madara was the smartest, the strongest, the best, and had all kind of power. However, this wasn't true. Madara was just someone with borrowed power and could not even bring these power to their maximum. He was going nut, and lost track of reality. He was in his own dream within his mind. So,
Do you know why Madara got owned, and why many people are mad about it? Well, here is my take:
(1) Madara and his fandom thought he was god
(2) Madara's fandom thoughts Madara was at Naruto's level of sensing
(3) Madara and his fandom did not know that he was missing one power - that of a god
See, a god needs to be able to see what is in the mind of a person just as Rikudo said it here:
Madara does not have this, even being the Jinchuriki of Juubi, meaning he has all the bijus chakra inside him. This is why he could not know that BZ was not an ally. He got stabbed just as Minato lost the Kyuubi to BZ because he did not know that BZ was coming.
Since Madara cannot know what is in BZ mind, BZ was the best person who could take him down. In fact, the scene was a replay of when Obito stabbed him while Madara thoughts he was controlling Obito. This is reality vs dream.

I think that rather than being mad, those who had high expectation in Madara should not blame Kishi. They should blame themselves for believing the statement of a single character, and not making difference between the characters objectively.
