Seems like Kaguya's eye gives too much power so you can not control it... or simple go mad/stupid, so imo yes.

Double Rinnegan Madara was pure badass while Three-eyed Madara overstimated himself and lower his guard going easy.

Well Currently he would have chance, but not back them when he was new with his abilities. However Madara is still more skilled and as Obito said don't understimate Double Rinnegan power !

Nope, Kaguya third eye was shown to make your more stupid. Hagoromo's skills and clever mind > Kaguya's too much power

Any version of Rikudou > 3-eyed madara. 3-eyed Madara is too stupid and uncontrollable to have chance against someone with brain.

But Double Rinnegan JJ Madara would give Hagoromo really hard battle

That's mindset, not strength. Power-wise, it would make no sense for his form above another makes him weaker. 3-eyed Madara didn't really do shit. How can you expect Madara to think that he was going to be attacked by what he believed was his own damn will? That's like Hashirama expecting Tobirama to someday sneak attack him. It's just not a scenario in a person's mind to be attacked by their own will and that's why Madara was easily beaten.

I give BZ credit for doing what he did, but he's been doing what he's been made to do all along. He just outsmarted Madara and sneaked him really. People take this out of context too much.
