If Madara didn't wait until his eyes went blind, then why wouldn't he and his brother just swamp eyes. That way they both would've had EMS, unless his brother died during the process.

The same could've been done between Itachi & Sasuke but Itachi's situation with Sasuke was not the same

doesnt work like that. you have to take their eyes and combine them with your eyes. its retarded, and you SHOULD be able to just swap MS's and get EMS, but hey. its a show

I would then assume that it was taken against Izuna's will. Since if by going with your post, it IS possible to to trade ( like pokemon cards of course ). However, it may be the fact that his eyes were blind already that it's power were of no use? So then if Madara and Izuna knew of it, then they wouldn't just give each other their eyes since they were evenly match as it was portrayed thus far.

You do not combine the eyes, that is ****ing retarded. You simply transplant the eyes that belong to the sibling, in Sasuke's case his eyes were already blind and he received Itachi's eyes. In Madara's case he was also blind and he received Izuna's eyes. Izuna did not die but continued living and fighting despite not having any eyes, but eventually died in battle. Both Sasuke's and Madara's original eyes were worthless because they had already lost their site, If Izuna and Itachi had received those eyes they would be blind as a bat.

My guess is they didn't know about it. Remember they were the first to achieve that stage. Madara goes blind because of overuse and out of desesperation he takes Izuna's eyes so that he can see again. Or maybe Izuna loved his brother so much that he sacrificed his sight for him. Anyway, the important point is : they didn't know they would achieve a new power by doing so, that's just dumb luck. Sasuke hadn't unlocked mangekyo at the time and itachi was dying anyway

It's just basic logic.

If not both Madara and his brother would of Had EMS, But they didn't, Madara's brother was left blinded. It makes far more sense that the Eyes are fused together rather than just replaced.
